New Student Breakfast Option

November 18, 2025
Dear Avon Lake City Schools Community,
The ALCS is proud to announce the offering of a Grab-and-Go breakfast program for students throughout the district, launching on Wednesday, November 19th, in light of some of the challenges facing our families going into the holiday season. Breakfasts will be pre-packaged and available in a grab-and-go format for a cost of $2.00 at each building cafeteria, featuring a repeating weekly menu, with different food options every day, including items such as mini-muffins, fresh fruit, juice, and milk. The menu is available for viewing online and is also posted on the district website. Breakfast times at each building will be as follows:
- ALHS from 7 a.m. until 7:30 a.m.
- Learwood from 7:40 a.m. until 7:55 a.m.
- Troy from 7:25 a.m. until 7:40 a.m.
- Elementary Buildings from 8:35 a.m. until 8:50 a.m.
Students will be able to eat these grab-and-go pre-packaged breakfasts in their classroom. Feel free to take advantage of the breakfast grab-and-go style program beginning tomorrow, November 19th.
Congratulations Student-Athletes who Signed for College Participation!
Last week, on Wednesday, November 12th, the Avon Lake City Schools congratulated three of our student-athletes for participating in National College Signing Day. Please join me in recognizing the following Shoregals: Olivia Miller, who will play basketball at Wayne State, Camryn Koski, who will play soccer at Northern Kentucky, and Emily Loeffler, who will play volleyball at Slippery Rock.
Congratulations to these members of our student-athlete family, who have worked hard enough to earn the attention and interest of the listed colleges and universities. You, your families, and your coaches have worked hard, and we commend your efforts. All the best in your future athletic endeavors!

All orders are due by November 25th and all orders will be available for pick up on December 3rd at the Erieview building at 32630 Electric Blvd. Let's have a friendly challenge between the schools with an incentive for the school with the most sales. Thank you for your support of the PTA Council Winter Plant Sale!
Eagle Cameras Restored to Service at Redwood
The Avon Lake City Schools would like to thank all of the individuals involved for their help to restore camera service at the beloved home of our Redwood Bald Eagle’s nest. The time-honored special home our majestic eagles have made on our school grounds is always of great interest in our community. We’re happy to report that the Ohio Department of Natural Resources found a period of dormant activity for a team to install new cabling. Special thanks to Lescher Tree Care for donating their time and services to run the necessary infrastructure, and re-install the cameras, all funded from Eagle Calendar sales. Previous cameras had been damaged and non-functional from harsh Ohio weather. For the first time in the last two years, we can all enjoy watching the Eagles!
Hard to believe that next week is already Thanksgiving week! Let’s finish the next few days of school on a positive note before this most thankful of all breaks! Have a great week.
Sincerely,
Joelle M. Magyar

Please Join Your School PTA!
Each of the Avon Lake City Schools has a Parent Teacher/Staff Association (PTA) that is very active and which works closely with the District, Parents, and Community of Avon Lake.
Please consider joining the PTA associated with the school that your child attends. If you have students in multiple buildings, it is best to join each building.
It’s a great way to get involved and to help support the teachers, staff, students, and community!
