It’s time to lace up those running shoes and get ready to run! The 2026 Track and Field season is around the corner and we are thrilled to have you involved. The first practice will kick off the season on Monday, April 6. Practices run from 3:20 pm until 5 pm. The first meet is on Monday, April 27. (See the link below for the full schedule.)

Middle School Track and Field encourages 7th and 8th graders to push themselves for their own personal gratification as well as a member of the Romeo team. Top times/distances will earn points for the team. There are no cuts in track and field; all athletes are allowed to participate. We just ask that athletes dedicate themselves to personal improvement and the team. This dedication includes a willingness to expand your range, and compete in events that benefit the team when asked and needed. Both 7th and 8th graders have received an email form to fill out if they plan to participate.

If you are not familiar with Track and Field, please see the attached information links about the season.

See you soon!

Adam Kerschenheiter, Boys Head Coach (adam.kerschenheiter@romeok12.org)

Amy Paulson, Girls Head Coach (amy.paulson@romeok12.org)

Assistant Coaches: Jennifer Hill, Jessica Jones, Marisha Sunday

Trimester three is upon us! Throughout this trimester all of our students will be testing for the NWEA and MSTEP. In addition, our 8th grade students will be taking the PSAT, which is their first step toward high school preparation. As we near the testing dates, there will be more information released and we will do our best to make sure our students are prepared and feel comfortable with taking their standardized tests.

  • Our 8th grade students will be taking the PSAT on Tuesday, April 14th.

  • We will be completing our Student Readiness Check March 24th to make sure all students have access to the technology needed for testing.

  • There is a portion of the set up for PSAT that asks for some information from students that CollegeBoard uses to help understand who is taking the test and their background. Attached is an opt out letter for parents if they choose not to have their students answer that information.

  • All students will take the test, but providing additional information is optional.

  • Please print and sign the attached form if you want your child to opt out of providing additional information. Return forms to the counseling office by March 23rd, so that we are aware prior to the Digital Readiness Check. Thank you!
