Week 22

Thank You, Eagle Families!

  • Thank you to all of our families who participated in the Double Good Fundraiser. While we did not quite meet our fundraising goal, it was exciting to see more families than ever get involved and support our school. Several Eagles did an outstanding job with their fundraising efforts, and we are planning a special way to say thank you—be on the lookout for an upcoming announcement!

Join the Eagle Alliance Movement (TEAM)

  • The Eagle Alliance Movement (TEAM) will meet Monday at 1:00 PM. TEAM members help fundraise for our school and support the creation of fun, family-friendly community events. We would love to see more families join and be part of the TEAM!

Attendance Update & Important Reminder

  • Attendance is beginning to improve, and we appreciate your continued efforts. Last week’s extreme cold certainly made attendance more challenging. Please remember that student safety and health always come first. If your child must stay home due to health concerns (such as illness) or safety concerns (including immigration-related concerns), please keep them home and communicate with the school.
  • We will be sending excused absence forms home on Monday. Currently, our building has over 2,000 unexcused absences, and we are asking all families to submit documentation to excuse absences as soon as possible.

School Dance Information

  • Students with five (5) or fewer unexcused absences will be permitted to attend the upcoming school dance.
  • Admission is free, Students may purchase small treats, Parents are welcome to attend

  • Students will receive their official “ticket” to the dance next week

Jungman is currently working on our Continuous Improvement Plan, and family voice is a critical part of that process. We want to better understand how to engage, support, and connect with our families in meaningful ways.

Your feedback will help us improve parent involvement, strengthen our school community, and plan meetings, events, and opportunities that work best for you and your family. This survey is short and should take about 3 minutes to complete.

Thank you for taking the time to share your voice — your input truly matters.

Attendance Stats This Week

  • Tardy: 167 students came after 7:55 AM
  • Absent-Not Excused: 68 Students
  • Absent-Excused: 35 Students
  • Early Dismissals: 18 students left early this week

Attendance Rate this week: 88%; A 5% drop from the previous week

<<162.5 absences (AE, AU, HD) / 1330 attendance days>>

We are currently well below our goal of 95% daily and 95% weekly attendance. While last week’s extreme weather certainly played a role, consistent attendance remains very important.

As we all know, living in Chicago means preparing for unpredictable and sometimes extreme weather conditions. If your family needs support with items such as coats, hats, gloves, boots, or warm shoes, please do not hesitate to reach out. Our school is committed to supporting families in any way we can to help students arrive safely and ready to learn.

If you need assistance, please contact the school—we are here to help.

🦅 Great Weekend to Be an Eagle! 🦅

Our girls’ team pulled off an impressive win against Pickard—great teamwork and determination on display! The boys’ game was canceled due to the opposing team not having enough players.

We also want to celebrate our LEGO Team for a strong showing at the State Sectionals. While they did not advance, it was a great run, and the students represented our school with hard work, creativity, and perseverance. We are proud of their effort!
