From the Principal's Desk: Bingo Night Coming Together!

Dear Salisbury Families:

I hope everyone had great Thanksgivings! So great to have time to take a break, come together with family and friends, and reflect on the good things in our lives. With that in mind: thank you., newsletter reader, for all the things you bring to the lives of our SCS students!

Continuing a theme from last week: we are really excited to host our FOSCS Bingo Night on December 8th! We keep getting more and more prizes, both for the Bingo cards and for our "brown bag raffle" (water park tickets for Jay Peak, lift tickets to Pico, entrance to Petra Cliffs, gift certificates to many local businesses- good stuff!) Also, we are now planning to have a spaghetti dinner before, cooked for us by our very own cook Kathleen Marinelli! We will also sell meatballs for folks to take home. We are really hoping lots of people will come!

Also, we are continuing to collect items for the Holiday Dollar Store! In particular, we could use items that students might like to choose for adult males, but any small gifts are great!

If you have any questions about any of this, or ideas to share, just reach out: bsears@acsdvt.org

Have a great week!

Bjarki

Thanksgiving at Salisbury Community School!

On Thursday, we all came together as a school to celebrate Thanksgiving! We set up tables in the gym, and our cook Kathleen whipped up an excellent dinner! It was fun to all eat together, and to think about who we might give thanks to. Each student was asked to pick one person in their life to say "thank you" to- I'm sure a great majority of those were directed to readers of the SCS Newsletter!

A message from Tammie Johnson regarding Christmas Trees:

Hi SCS families,

Salisbury will be receiving a handful of donated Christmas trees again this holiday season. Please let me know if you would like a tree and how tall of a tree you would like (in feet). Also please let me know if you would like a tree stand.

Thank you!

Tammie Johnson

Boots for outside, shoes for inside!

As the snow a few weeks ago reminded us- it gets wet, muddy, and snowy out there, and it's really easy to track all of that mess into school. Now that it is getting colder, please send your child to school with a pair of shoes to be worn inside (sneakers work best, really, because they are so versatile) and a pair of boots for outside. This keeps floors dry and safe for everyone to walk on, and keeps our school in much better shape. If you need any help finding boots or shoes, please reach out to us- we have some options to help. Thank you!

2-3 Holds a Natural History Museum!

As a finale to their Natural History Museum work, Mrs. Larocque's 2-3 class welcomed guests in to see their very own Natural history Museum! Guest learned tons about different prehistoric creatures, and the fossils they left behind!
