BIA Consolidated LEA Improvement Plan (CLIP) Meeting
BIA invites all community stakeholders to provide input on the District’s 2025-2026 Consolidated LEA Improvement Plan (CLIP). The CLIP fulfills the need for a plan from the district to be collected by the Georgia Department of Education (GADOE) to define how BIA will support students when accepting federal funds under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015.
BIA will hold the second of two CLIP meetings on Thursday, April 3, 3:30 - 4:30 in the Cafeteria.
For more information, please contact Mr. Samuel Stephens, Assessment and Title One Coordinator, sstephens@biaschool.org.
GMAS Parent University
Thank you for registering and participating in our Virtual Head of School’s Address and GMAS 101 Session. Attached, you will find the GMAS 101 Presentation for your reference.
We encourage you to spread the word about our upcoming session, GMAS 102: Resources and Strategies for At-Home Support for the Georgia Milestones, scheduled for April 1, 2025, at 6:30 PM. Registration is open at https://forms.gle/ho2LK2YXxhmRScv87, and those who previously registered for GMAS 101 do not need to register again.
Thank you again for your participation and engagement in our Georgia Milestones training. We look forward to continuing to support our students in grades 3 - 8 as they prepare for the Georgia Milestones assessments beginning April 28th.
Scoliosis Screening
BIA Charter School will conduct our annual screening for scoliosis on April 15th. The screening is done yearly for students in 6th and 8th grades as required by Georgia State Law and mandated by the Georgia Department of Public Health. The screening is done to identify students who may have scoliosis, an abnormal curvature of the spine. Scoliosis affects one to two percent of the adolescent population. If the condition is detected early and appropriately treated, progressive spine deformity can be prevented.
If your child has already been screened by a health care provider or you do not want your child screened at school, you must submit the attached Department of Public Health Form 4400 to the school no later than Monday, April 14.
