Tips for a Successful First Day of School
Greetings Yellowjacket Community,
We are excited to welcome our new and returning Yellowjackets to campus on Tuesday, July 29th for our first day of school. Tuesday is an adjusted day, and we will dismiss at 1:03 PM. Together, we will strive to create a nurturing and inclusive campus where every student feels valued, supported, and inspired. The 2025 - 2026 school year is going to be great!
Students should check their schedule in Aeries on Monday night. Due to increased enrollment, some classes may have changed. If students would like a hard copy of their schedule, they may retrieve a copy in the quad outside the Student Office before school on 7/29.
Students may not use mobile devices (including phones, tablets, bluetooth headphones/air pods, or smart watches once they have entered campus. Devices must remain off and out of site until students exit campus at the end of the instructional day.
Food Delivery Apps Not Accepted
AMS will not accept Door Dash, Grub Hub, or similar food delivery orders for students. All students receive a free breakfast and lunch daily in the AMS Cafe.
Helpful Information for the Start of the School Year
View our Bell Schedule here. Zero period and Advisory will be held on the first day of school.
Supervision is available approximately 10 minutes prior to the beginning of the school day.
We will have plenty of staff members available on the first day of school to direct students to their classes.
If your student was unable to attend Walk Through, they may retrieve their class schedule in front of the Student Office on July 29th before school.
Please note California Law requires all students entering 7th grade to show proof they have received a Tdap (whooping cough booster) vaccine. If you have not already done so, please email a copy of this proof to Mrs. Rios at brios@brentwood.k12.ca.us or fax to 925-516-3470. School entrance will not be permitted without this immunization.
No schedule changes will be made the first two weeks of school. If a schedule change is desired after the first two weeks, parents must first meet with the teacher to discuss concerns. If concerns remain, parents may contact their student's Vice Principal. Schedule changes are not guaranteed. We cannot accommodate requests to change lunches.
Drop Off and Pick Up
Students dropped off by vehicle may enter campus through the Main Gate at the loop in front of the gym. The right lane is reserved for quick drop offs.
- Please pull all the way forward and have your student exit quickly and safely.
- If you plan for a longer drop off, please use the left lane and park in our parking lot.
The first bus loop on American Avenue is for buses and special permit only. Please use the main loop in the parking lot for student drop off and pick up.
Traffic on Balfour and American Avenue is expected. To avoid traffic, plan to be on American Avenue before 7:30.
Please be advised, many students walk down to the shopping center at the corner of Balfour and West Country Club. This area does not have supervision. We encourage families to make other pick up arrangements.
Check our Morning Announcements to keep informed of activities, athletics, and other opportunities for students on campus. Our Morning Announcements can be accessed on our website or by clicking this link. Students will read announcements every Monday and Thursday in their Advisory class.
