Opening of Schools Report

Central Office administrators provided the Board of Education and the community with an update on how their departments have prepared the district for the upcoming school year.

In addition, our leaders provided preliminary data on achievement results on the 2023 ACT Aspire.

Capital Improvement Project Priorities

Mr. Scott Beardsley, President of First Security Finance, and Mr. Darrell Tessman, Facility Coordinator at the Arch Ford Education Service Cooperative, discussed state partnership funding announcement for the construction of a new middle school campus.

The district was approved for more than $20 million in funds for the state for the project.

In addition, board members and district leaders discussed projected revenue and costs for future building projects and a proposed millage campaign needed to fund the middle school construction.

Board Tables Vote on Public Relations Firm

The Board of Education voted to postpone a decision on hiring Woodberry Associates, a Washington, D.C.-based public relations firm. The firm was sought to support the Communications Office with communication strategy to convey the district's long range vision and commitment to academic excellence. The Communications Office is staffed with one person.
