Preschool Weekly Update
Hello Preschool Families,
NO SCHOOL MONDAY
Just a friendly reminder that there will be no school this Monday in honor of Yom Kippur. To all of our families who are observing, we wish you a meaningful and peaceful Yom Kippur.
What a wonderful week we had at Pittaway! It has been so nice to see our students continuing to settle into their routines, build relationships, and become more comfortable in their school community. We had lots of learning, smiles, and special moments throughout the week, including our very first BEE Day!
We had such a great first BEE Day at Pittaway! Throughout the day, students participated in activities focused on learning about and practicing our Pittaway Core Values: Be Safe and Be Kind. We even had a special visitor to help us kick off the day, Bumbles greeted students as they arrived at school!
It was wonderful to see our students learning, having fun, and coming together as a school community.
We are looking for parents who would like to join the Pittaway School Site Council! Having parent voices at the table is so important, and this is a great way to be involved in conversations about our school and the needs of our students. School Site Councils are mandated by the Massachusetts Department of Education and work with the principal to:
- Adopt educational goals for the school that are consistent with local educational policies and statewide student performance standards.
- Identify the educational needs of students attending the school.
- Review the annual school building budget.
- Help formulate the school improvement plan.
Our Site Council will begin meeting in October and will meet once a month on Thursday afternoons from 3:00–4:00 p.m. If you are interested in joining us, please email me at acurley@ashland.k12.ma.us. We would love to have parents join the conversation and share their perspectives!
Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership. We are so proud of how our students are starting the year and love seeing their personalities, friendships, and confidence grow each day. We hope everyone has a restful long weekend! We are looking forward to another great week of learning, playing, and growing together when we return on Tuesday.
