๐๐ทRicebird Band Enters Top 30 for the First Time in 30 Years๐๐ฅ
A new milestone. A new standard. And an exciting future ahead.
Congratulations to the El Campo Ricebird Band on an outstanding performance at Saturday's Area Marching Contest in Pflugerville! Competing against 32 bands from across the region, the Ricebirds finished 17th overall, breaking into the top 20 for the first time in at least 30 years!
This is a tremendous milestone for our program and a testament to the hard work, dedication, and growth of our students. Performing as the third band of the day, our students took the field early and delivered what we believe was their strongest performance of the entire season.
While we won't be advancing to the next round, we have plenty to celebrate. This group has continued to raise the bar, challenge expectations, and move our program forward. 17th out of 32 is more than a placement...it's a sign of where this program is headed.
We are incredibly proud of these students and grateful for the support of our administration, faculty, staff, parents, and community. Thank you to everyone who has encouraged, supported, and cheered on the Ricebird Band throughout this season.
THANK YOUs go out to:
Mr. Wilson and the Welding Class for creating our props and maintenancing our instruments everytime they broke.
Mr. Prochazka for always looking out for our tires as we passed his area and letting us store equipment in his room when we needed it.
All the sponsors/coaches who shared their students with us as we tried to make history. Giving them to me for all our practices was more appreciated than I can ever tell you!
Coach Reeve and the Athletic department for the cones and use of the parking lot all season
Jenna Zabodyn for the use of her gym and sharing some girls with us!
Christina Brooks for making sure all the bills got paid!
You guys make it easier for us!!!
