WRJH -Welcome Back to the 26/27 SY!

Message from Principal Phillips
Hello WRJH Families!
I hope everyone had a great summer and is looking forward to starting the year next week. Our staff is hard at work getting ready to open the building on Thursday August 20th. Please remember that Raider Check-In is from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Tuesday, August 18th. We will have schedules, resources, and the opportunity to walk the building.
As you know, we are very full as a building, but we have been preparing and working to ensure that when every teacher shuts their door to start working with your students, they have an amazing experience. Please have conversations with your students about your expectations of their behavior in a building that has crowded hallways, cafeteria, drop off/pick up, as these are the times where students tend to have negative interactions and misunderstandings that lead to conflicts.
I want to share with everyone that because of our enrollment numbers we are at capacity in many of our classrooms. Unfortunately, some students will not be placed in their requested electives, including Band, Choir and Orchestra. We did our best to honor all of our requests, but in the classes that were over capacity we let the scheduling system randomly place the students in their elective classes. We know this is not ideal and we have many kids that want to be in a class that they may not be able to take, but this was the fairest manner to make these decisions.
Thanks
Principal Phillips

Learners Today, Leaders Tomorrow!
Hilsheimer’s Hello!
Hello, WRJH Raiders!
I’m thrilled to be back for my second year at Waggoner Road Junior High as the 6th grade Assistant Principal and in the Reynoldsburg City School District. After an incredible first year, I’m excited to continue building relationships with our amazing students, staff, and families and to be part of the WRJH community.
This school year also marks my 25th year in education. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in History and Master’s Degree in Education from The Ohio State University, along with a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Ashland University.
When I’m not at school, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Emily, and our two daughters, Evelyn (13) and Charlotte (11). Emily and I have been married for 15 years, and we are very proud of our daughters, who have both earned their black belts in Tae Kwon Do! Evelyn also enjoys gymnastics, while Charlotte plays volleyball.
I’m looking forward to another fantastic year at Waggoner Road Junior High. Thank you for welcoming me into the WRJH family and for making my first year such a great experience. I can’t wait to see what we accomplish together this year,
Go Raiders!
Warm regards,
Mr. Hilsheimer
Assistant Principal, WRJH
Oates' Corner
Welcome Back WRJH Raiders!
My name is Mrs. April Oates, and I get to be the Assistant Principal for 7th Grade students here at Waggoner Road Junior High. I have a Bachelor's Degree from Ohio University in Middle Childhood Education, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Ashland University.
I am married to my supportive husband named Frank, and have three sons, Jaxon (10), Christian (4), and Colton (2).
I am excited for the many things we have going on this year including our PBIS programs with multiple incentives. We have the 8th grade DC Trip in May, the homecoming parade, culture night, career day, dances, and so much more.
I am also excited to be working with many of the same students that I had last year as sixth graders.
As we begin the year we will remind students to Be Responsible, Be Respectful, and Be Safe. Your students will tell you that I often ask them to “not let temporary emotions cause a permanent decision to be made.”
I am so excited to continue to get to know you and your students this year. Let’s make it an amazing year! Let’s Go Raiders!
