Do you know...?

... Different snowflake shapes form at specific temperatures. Needles or columns tend to form in very cold conditions, while the iconic, complex star-shaped (dendrite) flakes grow in a narrow temperature range around -15 °C (5 °F). The common belief that "no two snowflakes are exactly alike" is largely true because each follows a unique path through the atmosphere, encountering slightly different temperature and humidity conditions that affect its growth. However, scientists have managed to grow "identical-twin" snow crystals in a controlled laboratory setting.
