Memorial Update

Good Morning Memorial Families,

The third annual Fun Run was wildly successful once again this year. Thank you to our families and our community for your support, and the Memorial PTO for the coordination and efforts to make the day both financially successful but also just an all around wonderful day for our school. The weather tried to push us indoors, but the rain held off and we were able to get fresh air and lots and lots of exercise.

Unfortunately, the rain did not hold off on Friday for our picture day. I was really excited to do outdoor photos this year, but it just was not meant to be. However, our new photographers from Coffee Pond did a wonderful job transitioning into a studio in the gym. Thank you to the parent volunteers who spend the day organizing the students, helping with outfit checks and hair smoothing, and for keeping everything running smoothly. We have scheduled a make up day for December 2nd.

We will be holding Cardboard Creation Day on Friday, October 30th. If you have extra cardboard that you would like to donate, please let me know and we can arrange a drop off time. If you would like to volunteer on the 30th to help in the gym with the creation building and you have not reached out to me yet, please send me an email at wbell@mursd.org. You can volunteer for just your child's class, or more if you like.

I hope that everyone has a good week! Looking forward to seeing everyone on Thursday night for the PTO Spooktacular Trunk or Treat being held at Nipmuc High School.

Spooktacular Trunk or Treat – This Thursday, October 22! Join us from 5:30–7:30 PM at Nipmuc High School for a spooktacular evening! Interested in hosting a trunk? Sign-ups close TODAY, Monday, October 19! Thanks to the incredible success of our Fun Run, PTO was able to purchase additional treat handouts to help supplement supplies for our trunk hosts. Trunk hosts should bring a few bag of treats to get started, and PTO will help with the rest!

November Volunteer Opportunities: We're looking for volunteers to help make Claytime Family Paint Night on November 12 and the Scholastic Book Fair, November 16–20 a success! Whether you can lend a little time or a lot, we'd love your help! The Book Fair is a great opportunity for extended family members to join and see their students during the school day! Volunteer sign-up links for both events can be found in our Linktree.

Next PTO Meeting – December 9: There will be no PTO meeting in November. Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 9 at 6:30 PM in the Memorial Library, 2nd floor. Childcare is available! We hope to see you there!
