Craddock's Weekly Update
For the Week of April 27, 2026
Happy Friday!
We had such a wonderful week of celebrations! Wednesday was Administrative Professionals Day, which we affectionately called "Happy Mrs. K. Day!" We greeted her with extra big smiles, lots of flowers, some beautiful gifts and lots of handwritten notes telling her how much we love and appreciate her! We COULD NOT function at Craddock without this amazing human and we are so incredibly grateful she is the first face you see and first voice you hear when you call! We could not be more appreciative of her and all she does each and every day for the staff, students and families of Craddock! Thank you Mrs. K.!
I had the distinct pleasure of talking with the parents of all our incoming 1st graders on Thursday evening! Although we were standing room only, I was so excited to see all of the parents who came out! Everyone was so warm, friendly and truly interested in knowing about what Craddock is all about! I am also so grateful to our staff members who gave up some of their evening to say hello to our families! Thank you Mrs. Acevedo, Mrs. Goff, Mrs. Kerchenski, Mrs. Martin, Miss McArthur and Mrs. Schnur! They all contribute to the heartbeat of our school and I was so grateful they attended! 💚
Finally, the 400 students in our building have worked so hard to fill up our school pom pom bucket for the 7th and 8th time this year! We had an extra special celebration by allowing them to help design how Mrs. Schnur would wear her hair to school this past Tuesday! They gave some great input and Miss Grace pulled it off masterfully! Thank you to our students for working hard to follow our expectations! Celebrating is so much fun! Check out some of the pictures below!
Next week is the final week of April and please be reminded that we do not have school on Friday, May 1st! The following week of May 4th is Staff Appreciation Week! We are so excited to celebrate everyone!
Have an exceptional weekend and don't hesitate to reach out with any questions, concerns or feedback!
Take care,

An Update from School Counselor, Mrs. Schnur
Hello Craddock Families!
The countdown to the end of the year is upon us. I cannot believe summer break is this close-I don’t know where the time has gone! These past couple of weeks your student participated in a classroom guidance lesson about perseverance. Perseverance is a skill that students will need all throughout their life, not just in school! Your student learned about some skills they can use when they feel like they want to give up and quit. If you’re interested in continuing the conversation at home I have linked an article below. In May your student will be receiving a classroom guidance lesson about careers and career exploration. It is never too early to talk about the future and what things your student finds interesting!
I continue to be present in the building for all students and help students problem solve in all settings. I just completed a friendship skills group and I will be facilitating a changing families group within the next couple of weeks. This group is meant for students who have had a change in their family due to parent separation, someone moving or something else that has impacted a student’s family unit. If you are interested in your child participating in this group or want more information please do not hesitate to reach out to me! I also continue to offer PBIS re-teach sessions for any students who might benefit from repeat instruction in any of these areas!
I just recently found out about a free online program through the state of Ohio called “The Triple P-Positive Parenting Program”. This is a great resource to check out if you’re looking for some guidance on how to support your child's development and well-being! I have linked the website below!
Learn More about The Triple P!
As needs arise for your family please reach out to me and I can connect you with the right resources. If you have any questions or concerns about your child and would like me to meet with them please reach out to me and I will be happy to support you and your student.
Thank you for all you do to support your child’s social emotional development at home!
PBIS highlights this month:
Your student is working on the following skills. You can use this same language at home to help your child be successful at school and at home.
Take Care,
Claudia Schnur

Looking for Career Lesson Volunteers!
I am going to be teaching a lesson about careers the first couple weeks of May and would love for students to hear from people right here in our community!
I am looking for some volunteers to share a fun/interesting aspect of their job in a short video clip (30-60 seconds) that I will share with each class. Any and all careers are welcome! It is our intent to expose our students to as many careers as possible!
If you are willing to share please send me an email at cschnur@aurora-schools.org with the following information by May 1st:
Your name
Your occupation
30 second video clip with a fun or interesting fact about your career
Give Your Feedback Below for Your Child's Placement for 2026-2027
INCOMING FIRST GRADE (currently in K) and INCOMING SECOND GRADE (currently in 1st) Student Placement Feedback for the 26-27 School Year
As we begin the process of wrapping up the current school year, we can't help but begin to think about next year. Part of that process is the formulation of class placements. Class placements are constructed in a very particular manner, using data and input from the educational experts at Miller, Craddock and Leighton. We take many factors into consideration when making these decisions and feel it is very important that your input is utilized as well. You know your child best!
Although I cannot guarantee specific teacher requests will be granted due to a number of different factors, it is important to have as much information about each child as possible before the class list-making process gets underway. We recognize that parents/guardians are a valuable source of information to add to our knowledge about what works best for each child. Your information will be very helpful as we determine your child's placement for the 26-27 school year.
If you are interested in having some input, please fill out the following information and submit this form by Friday, May 8, 2026. Any feedback received after that date may not be able to be considered. You are also welcome to call or set up an appointment to speak with me specifically about your thoughts and concerns. I can be reached by email at kmstewart@aurora-schools.org or by phone at 330-562-3175. Thank you!
INCOMING THIRD GRADE (currently in 2nd) Student Placement Feedback for the 26-27 School Year
As our 2nd-grade students prepare for their exciting transition to Leighton Elementary School next year, we are seeking your input to assist with the placement process.
Parental feedback is a vital component, helping our students transition to a new building. Please note that while we take all feedback into consideration, this form is not a platform for requesting specific teachers, and submissions do not guarantee specific placement outcomes. Thank you for your collaboration!
Sincerely,
Spencer Warders, Principal
Reading at Recess with Mrs. Schnur 📚
Craddock's school counselor, Mrs. Schnur started a program on Fridays where she goes outside, lays down some adorable picnic blankets and shares stories with the kids! Today was her first time giving it a try and it was a smashing success! The kids were so excited to sit with her, talk with her AND hear a great story! She will continue this throughout the year to continue making connections with our students!

Transportation Information from Mrs Wingler 🚌
All students schedules are currently available through the MyBus K-12 App. How to access the App is located on the ACSD website under Departments/Transportation on the right side of the webpage. I have included the link below.
If any student is needing to be picked up or dropped off other than their home location, they MUST fill out an alternate bus stop form before we can transport and return to us by email, fax or dropping off at the office. That form is located in the same area as listed below on the webpage and is also included below.
Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. My email is cwingler@aurora-schools.org.
