OPR Start Time Next Year 2025-2026
The four elementary schools rotate start and end times every three years. The 2025-2026 School Year represents year one of the next rotation. The OPR start time will be 35 minutes later. Boyden and Fisher School will start at 8:30 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. Elm Street and Old Post Road School will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. Student arrival time is 8:50-9:00. Students are tardy after 9:00. We want to provide this information to families early so you can plan accordingly.
Family Survey
You should have received—or will soon receive—an email invitation to participate in the Walpole Public Schools district-wide Family School Climate Survey. The purpose of the survey is to learn more about you and your child’s experiences in our schools. We have partnered with K12 Insight to administer the survey, gather responses, and analyze the feedback. The insights we collect will play a key role in guiding our School Councils as they develop School Improvement Plans for the upcoming year. We sincerely appreciate your input. Thank you for your continued partnership in helping us create the best possible learning environment for all students.
Extended Day Summer Program
We are excited to announce that Extended Day will be running a Summer Program this upcoming summer and registration is now live. We are anticipating registration to fill quickly and will do our best to enroll as many waitlisted students as possible.
This year, the camp will run for 4 weeks at Fisher Elementary and offer an Extended Day PM option for families. Registration will be open for incoming first-sixth graders. Registration will be available for individual weeks and families will have the option to register for all 4 weeks at a discounted rate.
Please see the attached PDF regarding Summer Camp Information and Registration Information for the Summer of 2025 and reach out to Dan Santangelo (dsantangelo@walpole.k12.ma.us) or Evan Storlazzi (estorlazzi@walpole.k12.ma.us) with any questions."

Math with Mrs. Rinaldi
As we reflect on another great year of learning in our elementary math classrooms, it is always amazing to see the growth in our students. This year we have had more students than ever reach the 80% and 100% goals in ST Math. Every school has once again, hit over 100% puzzle progress as a school and we still have a few weeks to go! The implementation of Math Fact Lab has been a great success as all students have improved their fact fluency while they strived to reach their grade level goals. In this third year of the implementation of Bridges, classrooms have solidified their routines around Number Corner, Work Places, and lesson investigations and our students have risen to the challenge of this rigorous curriculum. It has been wonderful to hear and see the pride in our students as their math disposition grows increasingly more positive each year.
With only 3 weeks left in the school year, it is important to set goals and a plan for how to avoid summer slide after all the wonderful progress students have made throughout the year. Research has shown that students can lose up to 2 months of reading skills and 2 ½ months of math skills over one summer depending on their grade level. The good news is that there are easy and fun ways to prevent this loss of learning and maintain or even make gains over the summer.
The most important thing to do is keep your children active and thinking over the summer. Preventing summer slide does not equate with giving your children worksheets to do each week. Instead, encourage them to play outside, play board games, participate in imaginative play, and read for pleasure!
In order to keep those young mathematicians’ brains active, we have a whole section of our Family Math Site dedicated to activities and games your students can access to keep their minds engaged and math skills sharp. While we do not require students to complete any specific task, we do encourage them to engage their mathematical brain for 60-90 minutes a week on activities of their choice. If you scroll to the bottom of the web page, there are also printable packets for each grade level if that is what your child enjoys.
We want our Walpole students to have a wonderful summer, but we don’t want them to lose all the hard work they put in during the school year! We hope you all find time to relax and recharge over the summer while staying active and engaged in your choice of fun learning activities.
