Indiana Student: Testing Corner!
ILEARN Checkpoints
The Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) requires that all students in grades 3-8 participate in three ILEARN Checkpoints in addition to the ILEARN summative assessment in the spring each year. These checkpoints are a component of the ILEARN through-year assessment for English/Language Arts (ELA) and Math. You should not stress about these tests, they are just little checkups throughout the year.
THESE TESTS ARE NOT IN PERSON - THEY ARE DONE DURING YOUR LIVE CLASS SESSIONS
ILEARN Checkpoints are a computer adaptive test for ELA and Math. That means that the questions get harder and easier depending on your students answers. These are replacing STAR tests that students were given previously, and are designed to help teachers know where your student is at in their learning and what topics they may need more help with.
All of our Indiana students grade 3-8 will be required to participate in the ILEARN checkpoints on November 3-5
Additional Remote ILEARN Checkpoint Dates:
- ILEARN Checkpoint 2 :: February 9th - 11th
- ILEARN Checkpoint 3 :: March 31st - April 2nd
👉 Please take a moment to review our ILEARN Checkpoint Newsletter, which includes helpful information to prepare your student for testing.
Indiana In-Person State Testing
Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) requires all Indiana students to participate in statewide assessments throughout the school year. These assessments are crucial for measuring student performance, informing educational policies, and ensuring accountability in the education system.
🌟Indiana In-Person State Testing Dates🌟
- February 9th - 11th :: WIDA Access (K-12 Multilingual Learners)
- March 2nd - 4th :: SAT (11th Grader) & IREAD (2nd, 3rd, 4th Grader)
- April 19th - 30th :: ILEARN (3rd - 9th Graders)
💥Please make sure to mark your calendar and do not schedule anything during State Testing! It is required by the IDOE that all INDIANA students complete in person testing.💥
Would you like a Student ID Card?
If you are participating in Indiana state testing this is great to have when you sign in. All you have to do is visit the website below to order one today! For students who qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch, there is no charge! Otherwise, it only costs $2.55!

AP CORNER
Tips for Success
AP Exam Success Tips
To succeed in AP courses and exams, combine strong content mastery with smart test-taking strategies, consistent practice, and time management.
🎯 AP Tip #1: Build the Habit Now
Don’t wait until spring to start reviewing. Spend 10–15 minutes each week revisiting an older topic. By May, you’ll have practiced the material many times instead of trying to relearn everything at once.
✏️ AP Tip #2: Practice Explaining, Not Just Answering
📒 AP Tip #3: Learn From Your Mistakes!
Don't just correct an answer—figure out WHY you got it wrong!
When reviewing assignments or practice tests, ask yourself:
Did I misunderstand the question?
Did I forget an important concept?
Did I rush or make a careless mistake?
AP Success Secret: Keep a Mistake Journal where you record what went wrong and how to avoid making the same mistake again.
Remember: Every mistake you understand now is a point you could earn in May!
On an AP exam, getting the answer is often only part of the job. Practice explaining why your answer makes sense using correct vocabulary and evidence from the problem. A correct answer with a weak explanation can cost points.
