HELLO EAGLES!

Thank you to all of our Jungman families this past week for...
  • coming to Jungman on Tuesday, October 15 to see the Mariachi perform during their child's lunch period
  • submitting their child's Medical Compliance documentation by the October 15th deadline

A special "Thank You!" to the T.E.A.M. organization for...

  • connecting with the Pilsen community and raising funds this past weekend at El Paseo Community Gardens during the Harvest Fest
  • redesigning the sensory area in Jungman's playground - gardening, applying mulch, planting trees, etc

THE WEEK AHEAD

  • Monday, October 21: Student will practice a Severe Weather Shelter-in-Place Drill during the school day; Jungman will have an LSC Meeting in room 104 at 2:45pm in room 104
  • Thursday, October 24: Thursday is the last day of Enrichment programming. Academic programming will begin in November.
  • Friday, October 25: Friday, October 25 is the last day of Quarter 1. Parent Teacher Conferences will be scheduled on Monday, November 4. More information will be shared next week.

Today was a wonderful day for apple picking at Garwood's Farm! We saw a lot of interest from parents, and while we had to limit the bus, this morning we had families not show up and not notify anyone. In the future, it would be helpful to let organizers of school events know if you can't attend. It was such a lovely day at the orchards, and weโ€™d love to have even more families on the free bus next time!

IF you want to SELL items at this event

If you are interested in selling something at this fair, please see the attached flyers for more information and use the THIS LINK to reserve your spot. Each spot is $40.00 and you keep whatever money you raise from selling your housewares, clothes, etc.

The funds raised from selling "tables" at this event is going to support our "Student Closet." This closet provides changes of clothes to students if they have accidents/spills, provides coats, hats and gloves for students in need and supports our families experiencing rough times.

IT TAKES A VILLAGE!

Parents we need your help and your voice to help make our school a better place! This year, we are working to increase our parent presence in our school! Please read below for a few of the ways you can help!

Local School Council: Next Meeting is October 21st at 2:45 PM

  • Comprised of parents, community, educational, and student members, LSCs serve as an important vehicle for participatory democracy, providing a wide variety of stakeholders an opportunity to make important decisions about how students in their communities will be educated.

Parent Advisory Committee (PAC): The next PAC meeting will take place on Friday, November 8 at 8:00am.

  • Each academic year, schools establish Parent Advisory Councils (PACs) to bring together parents/legal guardians, teachers/staff, and community stakeholders to work with their school principal in the planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of the Title I Program. PACs empower parents to inspire and assist their children in achieving educational goals and graduating from elementary and high school.

Bilingual Advisory Committee (BAC): The next PAC meeting will take place on Friday, November 8 at 8:00am.

  • Bilingual Advisory Committees (BACs) empower parents of English Learners (ELs) to participate in their student's education and advocate for the academic, social, and cultural development of all ELs.

The Eagle Alliance Movement (TEAM): Next Meeting is October 9th at 8:15 am

  • Upcoming Events:
    • October 12th: Harvest Fest at the Paseo
    • October 31st: Trunk or Treat
