A Letter from the Principal
Dear Mike Davis Families,
As October begins, we have much to celebrate! Quarter 1 comes to a close on October 9, marking an important milestone in our school year. Over these first weeks, our students have worked hard, embraced new challenges, built friendships, and grown as learners. I am grateful to our teachers, staff, and families for the many ways you have supported their success.
As we look ahead to Quarter 2, I encourage every family to continue building a strong habit of reading at home each day. Reading is at the heart of learning across every subject, and the time children spend reading outside of school is invaluable.
Reading at home does not need to be complicated. Find a comfortable spot, choose something your child enjoys, put away distractions, and spend 15–20 minutes with a good book. Talk about the story, wonder together, laugh together, and allow your child to see reading as something your family values.
Our goal is bigger than helping children become good readers. We want them to become curious, confident learners who love to read.
Thank you for being our partners in education and for helping us make the first quarter a successful one. I am excited for everything Quarter 2 will bring!
Sincerely,
Melissa Stamper
