Our Principals' Press

At Audubon, we believe in celebrating students who go above and beyond. One way we do this is through our "Eagle Up" cards, which are awarded to students who demonstrate empathy, embrace diversity, show grit, practice integrity, and demonstrate self-control. We're excited to share that about 15% of our students have already received an Eagle Up Card this year! We encourage you to talk with your child about the Guidelines for Success and how they can embody these qualities in their daily lives.

Fall break is fast approaching! Students will be out of school from October 7th to 11th. We hope you take this time to relax and make incredible family memories.

In the Monday Morning Assembly last week, Mrs. Velotta focused on Rule #4: Love your Passengers! This week, we're moving onto Rule #5: Enjoy the Ride.

Ask your child about this at home and see if Rule #5 carries over to life outside of school.

If you'd like to know more about The Energy Bus for Kids click on the link below for a YouTube read Aloud.

The Zones of Regulation is a tool we use in school to help students identify and manage their emotions. It groups feelings into four color-coded zones: Blue (sad, tired, or bored), Green (calm and ready to learn), Yellow (frustrated, anxious, or excited), and Red (angry, out of control). By recognizing which zone they’re in, students can learn strategies to manage their emotions and return to the Green Zone. Parents can use the Zones at home by helping children label their emotions and encouraging calming activities, like deep breathing or taking a break, to manage difficult feelings.
