🌰 PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear MGES Families,
There is much to be proud of this week at Maple Glen. Our talented scurry displayed their skills at our Spring Band Concert, under the direction of Dr. Kennedy. We are excited for our Spring Orchestra Concert and I hear there may be a special guest soloist.
I hope to see you many of you tonight at the PTO Carnival. Please see more information in the PTO section below. We are so thankful for our MG PTO for planning such a fun and exciting evening for our students and families.
As we plan accordingly for next school year, we ask that families reach out to Mrs. O'Connor coconnor@udsd.org if you plan to move or are relocating within the UDSD.
Best regards,
Mr. Perez

đź’ˇHIGHLIGHTS FROM THE GLEN
MGES Band Concert
Our Spring Band Concert took us on a musical journey to the “Upside Down” with this year’s creative theme, Stranger Bands! Under the direction of Dr. Kennedy (aka Jim Hopper), students delivered an unforgettable performance filled with unique and exciting pieces that kept the audience on the edge of their seats. Adding to the fun, our talented musicians incorporated special sound effects throughout the concert, creating an immersive experience that felt both mysterious and thrilling. From eerie tones to unexpected musical twists, each performance showcased their hard work and growth throughout this school year. Thank you Dr. Kennedy for all of your hard work and dedication in developing our students musical talents.
Evacuation and Reunification Drill
Today, our 3rd through 5th grade students participated in our annual evacuation and reunification drill. As part of this important safety practice, students walked to our designated off-site evacuation location at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic School. This experience allowed students and staff to practice the procedures we would follow in the event of an emergency requiring us to safely leave campus and reunite with families.
We are incredibly proud of our students for the maturity and seriousness they demonstrated throughout the drill. While in the OLM gym, the level of focus and quiet was remarkable—you truly could have heard a pin drop. Their ability to follow directions and remain calm speaks volumes about their understanding of the importance of safety procedures. Our Safety Coordinator, Mr. Shea Creamer, was blown away and had high praises for our students.
While we sincerely hope that we never need to implement this process in a real situation, today’s drill reassured us that our students and staff are prepared. Practicing these routines helps ensure that, should the need ever arise, we can respond in a safe, organized, and efficient manner.
