Families - View your School Portraits, and select your yearbook/class picture* before the deadline:

• To view your school portraits look for an email sent to you by “Visual Image Photography”, or go to vipis.com
• Selection Deadline: 11/16/2022
• After the final deadline, VIP will choose a yearbook image for you

There is no deadline to order pictures. If you have questions, please email support@vipis.com

We have shifted from students wearing lanyards home and bringing them back each day to students keeping their lanyard at school each night. In addition to their in school lanyard, students also have a student ID attached to their backpack. Our goal with this shift is to reduce the number of elementary students who are losing their lanyards during the home to school transitions, while still maintaining school safety with students having a school ID at all times.

The second round of Parent teacher conferences will be held on Monday, November 21st from 4pm to 7pm. We are excited to welcome you to Spencer Loomis and look forward to meeting in-person. While it is preferable to conference with our parents in person, a virtual option remains available.

• Parents and Guardians wishing to utilize the remote option should sign up for time via Sign-Up Genius and then email the classroom teacher to request that your conference be held via Zoom. Links will be provided by the teacher.
• Parents and Guardians who elect to meet in-person should sign up via the class Sign-Up Genius and will need to arrive at the meeting at least 5 minutes prior to the time the meeting is scheduled.

Please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher should you have any questions or concerns regarding the scheduling of parent/teacher conferences.

In anticipation of winter and spring breaks (common times for families to take vacations together), we wanted to send a few reminders regarding school attendance. Students who are absent from school for 15 consecutive days will be dropped on the 16th day due to non-consecutive missed days of school (per Illinois School Code). Families may re-enroll at any time upon their return to the District/once their students’ ability to attend school in-person changes.

We highly value in-person learning, and know that our students perform best when they have direct access to classroom instruction and their teachers. Please plan family trips accordingly in order to avoid your student(s) being dropped from attendance, and to ensure maximum access to in-person learning.

As we enter another cold and flu season, please continue to monitor your student for changes in health. The health offices have noticed an increase in Influenza A cases in recent weeks, and we want to ensure that we are keeping our school communities healthy and safe. Please be reminded that students should stay home if they are not feeling well.
