Opening of School Important Information
Please note the following points for a smooth opening of the school year:
- Students who wish to eat breakfast are to report to the cafeteria upon entering the school. They are required to order and eat the breakfast in the cafeteria if they report to the cafeteria.
- If a student does not want breakfast, 7th and 8th graders report to the Auditorium and sit by grade level. 6th grade students report to the Gym and sit with their Homerooms (HR). Signs will be posted in the gym and teachers will be present to help students find their 6th grade HR group.
-On the first day of school, 6th grade HR teachers will meet students in the gym and will take them to class.
-We will have a modified schedule on the first day of school. HR will be extended, as well as lunch, and our class periods will be shorter. Students will be walking outside on the fields to ensure they know our reunification location should we ever need to evacuate for an emergency. Please be mindful of this outdoor walk when choosing shoes and outfit for the day.
-6th grade students will receive their Chromebooks in HR on the first day of school. 7th and 8th graders are expected to bring their Chromebooks back to school from home.
-Paper copies of students' schedules will be in their HR on the first day of school.
-On the second day of school, August 25, students will be with their HR the entire day. Students must have the Chromebooks charged and present. Pictures, health screening, class meetings, and other activities will be taking place on this day. We will once again have an extended lunch period as students get comfortable with our cafeteria procedures.
Medication Drop-Off
Medicines that have been approved with a Medical Authorization Form and are to be held at school may be dropped off for any student in any grade the following days and times:
- Monday, 8/17, 1:00-3:00PM
- Wednesday, 8/19, 6:00-7:45PM
- Thursday, 8/20, 8:45AM-2:45PM
Some helpful medical forms may be found HERE. Our nurses are also available each school day from 7:15AM-3:00PM for medicine collection.
Important Attendance Information
Please review the Attendance Information for procedures and processes to ensure that we have accurate accounting for late arrivals, absences, and early dismissals. Should you have any questions about the processes and procedures, please reach out to our Attendance Office at AttendanceMSE@boyertownasd.org or call 610-473-3904.
Breakfast/Lunch
Breakfast will continue to be free for all students. Those qualifying for financial assistance for lunch must re-apply every year.

Car Rider Information
To help ensure a safe and efficient arrival and dismissal process for all students and families, please follow the procedures below.
Arrival and Dismissal Traffic
- All vehicles dropping off or picking up students must enter through the east-side entrance of the school property.
- During the morning arrival and the afternoon dismissal times, all vehicles must turn right onto Big Road when exiting the school property.
Morning Drop-Off
Students should exit their vehicles once they have reached the designated sidewalk and all vehicles have come to a complete stop.
Please do not wait until your vehicle reaches the front entrance of the drop-off area to have your child exit. Doing so creates unnecessary backups and slows the entire drop-off process.
If your child needs additional time to exit the vehicle, or if you have heavy or multiple items that need to be unloaded, please pull all the way forward to the front of the sidewalk. You may then take as much time as necessary without delaying the vehicles behind you. No cars should drive back behind the building and no drop-offs should occur at the Tennis Court lot. All students must be in Homeroom by 7:35 a.m.
Afternoon Pick-Up
Students will be waiting along the designated sidewalk and should enter their vehicle once the vehicle reaches the sidewalk and comes to a complete stop.
As with morning drop-off, please pull forward as far as possible before having your child enter the vehicle. This helps us keep the line moving efficiently and minimizes backups.
Important Pick-Up Timing
Please do not arrive for afternoon pick-up before 2:15 p.m.
Our dismissal process begins at 2:35 p.m. and typically takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. Vehicles arriving before 2:15 p.m. can interfere with late-afternoon visitors who need to safely enter the school property.
We appreciate your cooperation and patience as we work together to make arrival and dismissal safe, efficient, and smooth for everyone.
New Student Open House
On Monday, August 17 from 1:00-3:00PM, 6th graders and new 7th and 8th graders to MSE are invited to come to school with an adult to walk the halls, find their locker, check out books in the library, and familiarize themselves with the building. We will have peer helpers, Bear Ambassadors (pictured above), along with staff members to help you find your way. Paper copies of your schedule will also be available.
