OCHS Principal's Update

As we begin to close out the school year, I cannot begin to thank you enough for having your child attend OCHS! Our school is a special place full of high expectations, hard work, and a lot of fun with one another.

These past few weeks, we have begun the, "lasts," with the seniors. I can be quick to take for granted all of these special moments, as the pace of our school day never seems to slow down. Recently, though, I have been more intentional in seeing the simple acts of kindness and goodness that come out of our students each day. It is hard to put into words just how special it is to see classmates that were once at odds with one another in their younger years come together as they get older or students investing the time into making themselves a better student over the course of years and being rewarded with scholarships that honor their efforts. This doesn't happen without a clear investment into each one of our students by all of those that respect and cherish them. I look forward to seeing where each student's path takes them as they navigate the end of this school year and make their way to the next. For the senior parents, I urge you to not be strangers to our school community! You are an important part of our fabric of who we are at O-C, and it is not the same without you.

We will have a special schedule on May 8th and May 15th.

Due to the O-C Track Invite, on May 8th, all Jr.-Sr. High students will attend school until 12:30 p.m. At 12:30, all students that DO NOT meet the following criteria will be dismissed for the day: We are going to require any student that is failing a class, has missing assignments, or needs to make up attendance time to attend until normal dismissal at 3:40 p.m.

On May 15th, the following will occur for District Track:

We are going to require any student that is failing a class, has missing assignments, or needs to make up attendance time to attend school that day. All other Jr.-Sr. High students will have the day off. This will allow our staff to assist with the track meet and will allow kids that are struggling to get caught up before the end of the year. P2T students will still be required to report to their P2T classes.

Students are welcome to come and go to finals as needed. Buses will run at the normal time on Tuesday and for a 2:30 dismissal on Thursday.
