Our school is participating in the Greenville Triumph Soccer Club's 2025 Read to Score Program. The reading challenge begins on Tuesday, September 9 and ends on Saturday, September 27. All Read to Score Bingo Cards will be due no later than Tuesday, September 30. For this optional program, students complete different reading activities on a reading card to get BINGO vertically, horizontally or diagonally. Students who participate will get to attend a Greenville Triumph soccer match for free on Saturday, October 18. Parents and guardians just need to initial as your child completes each activity on the Read to Score card. When you reach the goal of Reading BINGO, turn in your completed card to Mrs. Allen in the library. You will receive a letter with details about getting your free ticket during the first week of October. SDPC is continuing and expanding our partnership with Tri-County Technical College (TCTC) to bring adult workforce development opportunities to our community. The EmpowerUp program provides free or low-cost training opportunities that are flexible and locally relevant, designed to support adult learners, strengthen our workforce, and grow the local economy.

SDPC will be hosting an EmpowerUp OPEN HOUSE next week:

• Pickens County Career & Technology Center (990 Chastain Road, Liberty, SC)

At the Open House, community members can explore a wide range of training opportunities, including:

• Commercial Truck Driving

• Construction & Plumbing

• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)

• Emergency Medical Technology (EMT)

• Medical Billing & Coding

• Business Office Specialist, and more.

These programs are offered at little to no cost to community members.

The School District of Pickens County is now offering virtual volunteer training for those interested in volunteering in Pickens County schools. All volunteers must complete volunteer training every school year. To complete the training process, go to the website linked here and scroll to the bottom of the page and complete the six steps. After completion, you will receive an email confirmation. If you have any questions, please email ErinAllen@pickens.k12.sc.us.
