Greetings AMCMS Parents and Guardians!
I hope you are all doing well. I want to share a few things with you that you need to know about and be aware of:
Computer System Issue
At the end of the week last week the company that we use for our grading and attendance (and other things) ran an update to their program and it caused the attendance issues at the end of the week by not saving attendance. It also did not save any grades entered in a particular time period. We are working to correct these issues and get the information updated. Please be patient as teachers update their grades in the gradebook system
STAAR Testing --- Round #1
Please mark your calendars and help your child be prepared for the first round of STAAR tests. The schedule is below, but here is what coming first
- April 10 -- 7th Grade Writing -- 8th Grade Math
- April 11 -- 8th Grade Reading
- April 12 -- 8th Grade Math for 7th Grade Advanced Math Students
Please make sure that your child understands the importance of doing their best on these tests. These tests are a part of their record and educational decisions are influenced in part by the results of the STAAR test. Encourage them to take their time, do their best on each question, and make sure they answer all the questions. If they do that, they will do fine.
JUULS
If you find yourself going ... "Huh?" when you read JUULS.... you are not alone as an adult and as a parent. I have lots of information below and images to help you as mom and dad to be on the look out for JUULS.
Thank you for your involvement in your child's lives. It matters. They will almost never tell you, but they appreciate you being involved and being in their business. When you do that, they know you care.
