2 Little Blackbirds
Two little blackbirds sitting on a hill.
One named Jack and one named Jill.
Fly away Jack, flay away Jill.
Come back Jack, come back Jill.
Two little blackbirds flying in the sky.
One named Low and the other named High...
*You can show inflection with your voice to describe Low/High*
Fly away Low, flay away High.
Come back Low, come back High.
*Have your fingers give a smooch*

Coming Up!
Below you will find the link to complete your child's ASQ (Ages & Stages Questionnaire). This requirement comes from the Maryland State Department of Education. All families that participate with the Judy Center are asked to complete the questionnaire. The nice part is it's quick & easy. It only takes 5-10 minutes!

Navigating Toilet Learning🚽
Toilet learning goes smoothly when you watch for readiness cues and keep the process positive and low-pressure.
Know When Your Toddler Is Ready
Look for signs like staying dry for two hours, disliking dirty diapers, and showing curiosity about the bathroom.
Ensure your child can follow simple directions and pull their pants down and up.
Wait through major life changes like moving or a new sibling so your child feels secure.
Set Up Your Space and Routine
Place a small, child-sized potty chair in a handy spot or use a secure seat reducer on your regular toilet.
Keep a step stool nearby so your child feels stable and grounded.
Establish a predictable schedule by offering the potty at key times, like right after waking up or 20 minutes after meals.
Limit sitting time to three to five minutes so it does not feel like a chore or punishment.
Use Positive Guidance
Use direct, positive phrasing like "It is toilet time" instead of asking a question that invites a "no".
Stay calm during accidents; clean up matter-of-factly without showing anger or frustration.
Celebrate trying and successes with praise, stickers, or favorite books kept just for bathroom time.
