Preparing for Back to School Success!

August brings a unique mix of summer excitement and back to school anticipation. It is completely normal for students (and parents too) to feel a blend of eagerness and anxiety right now. As a family, focus on what you can control: building predictable routines, protecting sleep, and keeping communication lines open.

Remember, wellness isn't about being perfect; it's about creating a supportive environment where students feel safe to learn, make mistakes, and grow. Our counseling team is here to support you every step of the way.

Here are a few tips that might help your student prepare for a successful transition.

1. Identify school resources and support.

2. Attend orientation/transition events.

3. Prioritize your mental health

4. Know it's ok to ask for help.

5. Set manageable goals.

6. Begin to create a routine.

7. Be present and participate.

8. Check your school email.

9. Get involved.

The Robbinsville High School Counseling Department is excited to welcome our students back to school on September 3, 2026! We are here to support our students and families through this transition.

SCOIR - Career Planning and College Search Platform

At RHS, students in grades 10 - 12 have access to SCOIR, an interactive college and career planning platform designed to help them explore their interests, strengths, and future opportunities. Our 9th grade students will receive their SCOIR account when we return to school.

SCOIR offers much more than college searches. Students can complete career interest assessments, explore hundreds of career pathways, learn about required education and training, research salaries and job outlooks, and discover careers that align with their personal interests and skills. The platform also allows students to explore colleges, compare programs, build a personalized college list, and manage every step of the college application process.

We encourage students to log into SCOIR now and throughout the school year. SCOIR is a valuable resource that helps students make informed decisions about their future.

Students can access SCOIR through their Robbinsville High School class link.

**If your student requires testing accommodations for the PSAT’s (students who have a 504 plan or an Individualized Educational Plan that has testing accommodations as part of their plan), all requests for testing accommodations must be made by Monday, August 10, 2026 to your child’s school counselor or case manager.
