Community Update
Hello North Rockland Families,
Earlier this week, the North Rockland Central School District opened its doors for Open Houses, giving everyone an opportunity to reconnect, meet teachers and get ready for the year ahead. Staff also returned for professional development, culminating in Opening Day festivities to kick off the 2026-27 academic year.
During our Opening Day program, NRCSD honored the service and sacrifice of our nation’s veterans, commemorated the signing of the Declaration of Independence 250 years ago and reflected on the approaching 25th anniversary of September 11. Staff had the privilege of hearing from retired U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Travis Mills, a quadruple amputee and motivational speaker. His story offers a powerful reminder of the courage, resilience and strength that can carry us through even the most difficult challenges.
On the athletic fields, excitement is building as the fall season gets underway. As you read this, our Red Raider varsity football team is preparing for its 7 p.m. kickoff against the Nyack Redhawks. This long-awaited rivalry returns to our home field for the first time in over 42 years. It’s not too late to catch this historic matchup in person or watch the game live on Hudl Fan from home. Hudl Fan gives families, friends and community members one place to watch NRHS athletic events live or on demand, expanding access to games and increasing visibility for our student-athletes and athletic programs.
Now, all that remains is welcoming our students back. Schools open for students on Tuesday, September 8. We look forward to an exciting year of learning, growth and Red Raider pride!

Health Services
If your student is missing any required immunizations, you should have received a notice from Health Services Facilitator Kathy Varieur or your child's school nurse. Please schedule an appointment as soon as possible for your student to receive any missing immunizations and provide the updated immunization records to kvarieur@northrockland.org.
Students who are not up to date on their required immunizations will be excluded from school beginning Sept. 22, 2026, in accordance with New York state requirements.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this important matter. If you have any questions, please contact Kathy Varieur at kvarieur@northrockland.org or 845-942-3073.
Technology
Introducing Our New District Website
The North Rockland Central School District is transitioning to a new website platform, SmartSites, to provide a more user-friendly experience and better integrate with ParentSquare, the district's primary communication platform.
The new website is now live as part of a soft launch. While families and community members are encouraged to begin exploring the site, district staff will continue reviewing pages, updating content and refining features over the coming weeks to ensure information is accurate and easy to access. As improvements continue, users may notice updates to pages, links and content. We appreciate your patience during this transition and invite you to explore the new website. Thank you for your understanding as we continue improving the experience for everyone.
Infinite Campus Parent Portal Account Activation
All parents/guardians have an Infinite Campus Parent Portal account. If you need your account to be activated please send an email to ichelp@northrockland.org. The Infinite Campus Parent Portal provides attendance, schedule and grades.
ParentSquare Communication App
ParentSquare is our districtwide communication platform. This tool is used for all school, district and classroom communication into one place, making it easier for staff to connect with families and for families to stay informed and engaged. Expect an invite from ParentSquare coming to your email if you do not have an active account already. If you have not received an invite, you can all visit https://www.parentsquare.com/signin to start the process.
District Provided School Supplies
As we prepare for the start of the 2026-27 school year, we do so with the knowledge that the North Rockland community is a special place in which parents and the school work together to provide our students with the best possible educational experience. We appreciate that partnership and feel that it is important that the NRCSD continue with its practice of providing Elementary students (Grades K-6) with the basic supplies necessary for success in school rather than putting that burden on to our families.
Classroom teachers have identified and ordered supplies and materials that students will need for the 2026-27 school year. Your child’s teacher will distribute them to students when school begins in September. Your child’s teacher may recommend a few additional items after school starts, but the majority of the supplies will be purchased and provided by the District.

Rivalry Renewed
The most awaited game of the season is HERE! Take a look at this awesome video of both North Rockland and Nyack talking about the importance of this game. Let's go North Rockland!
Welcome Back!
After roaming the NRHS campus all by itself this summer, the Panther HAD to make an appearance on Opening Day! From high-fives and hugs to plenty of pictures, our students, staff and faculty were excited to see the panther back on campus.
Team Bonding and Wins
Over the weekend, North Rockland Field Hockey held a special team bonding breakfast under the pavilion at NRHS, catered by Sparky’s Diner, before the start of the season! Friends and families joined the team for a beautiful brunch and a chance to spend some time together before the season gets underway. The Raiders went on to win their first game of the season against Nanuet 2-1.
