TRANSPORTATION

Families/students are responsible for getting themselves to all practices. However, all students will receive transportation to all away games.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE

All High School and Middle School Students are encouraged to participate in athletics. Studies show students involved in athletics generally have improved academic performance, social relationships, self-esteem, and time management skills. Students also learn leadership skills, teamwork/cooperative skills, positive mentoring skills, and adopt a successful mindset and better lifelong fitness goals.

All students enrolling in a sport must:

1) Have a valid physical

2) Be a student in good standing

(DEFINITION: A student in "Good Academic Standing" is a student that is NOT on HOLD due to owing resources, uniforms, and fees and meets grade/academic requirements.)

NO STUDENT'S REGISTRATION WILL BE APPROVED TO PARTICIPATE IN TRYOUTS, PRACTICE, OR GAMES IF THEY OWE A UNIFORM FROM ANOTHER SEASON.

ATHLETIC FEES

The School Committee has voted to suspend athletic fees for the upcoming school year.

STUDENT PHYSICALS

All student-athletes must have a current physical on file. The MIAA (Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association that governs school sports) requires student have seen a doctor, in-person,

within the last 13 months and the physical on file must contain a section that says the student may participate in school sports with no restrictions (or with the following restrictions).

A physical must be the School/Camp form and CANNOT be a after visit summary or a mychart dump.

NO STUDENT CAN PARTICIPATE IN ANY TRYOUTS, PRACTICES OR CONTESTS WITHOUT THIS. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE.

Due to the availability of school nurses, we STRONGLY SUGGEST that ALL registrants attach their current physical to their registration, even if you think you have already submitted it. This will allow the school nurses to approve registrations remotely, therefore clearing students to start on the first day of their sport.

If your student's physical has expired and you cannot get an appointment with your pediatrician, CVS MinuteClinic at 189 Watertown St, Watertown, MA 02472 AND AFC Urgent Care at 376 Arsenal St, Watertown, MA 02472 offer a low-cost student sports physical.

HOW TO REGISTER

Follow the link below to be directed to the Athletics Registration Form by the dates listed below in registration deadlines. . Middle School students participating on a Middle School team should follow the high school deadlines to be cleared to participate in the first day of their sports. Students cannot try out or participate in any practices until they have been registered and cleared.
