Hello Elm Street School Families and Friends!

We packed in all the joy and engagement into this short week!

Thank you to all of the volunteers who came in this week to help with field trips and Wellness Day. Our grade 3 students had a perfect weather day to visit Plimoth Patuxet at the start of the week and we closed the week out with our annual Wellness Day with booths about screen time, dental hygiene, physical and emotional wellness, nutrition, sun safety, the importance of hydration, and of course Rebel and her friends! We also enjoyed visits from the Discovery Museum in grades 1, 2, and 4.

In this edition of our weekly newsletter you will find more information about:

  • upcoming dates and celebrations for June

Our grades 3, 4, and 5 students did a PHENOMENAL job during their Spring Concerts this week and we are so grateful to everyone who could join us in attendance and work with our arrival and dismissal procedures for the events. This week Kindergarten, Grade 1, and Grade 2 will have their concerts on Tuesday. Please keep an eye on your email on Monday for more information about how we will safely navigate arrival and dismissal for these concerts. We also have our Elm Field Day coming up on Friday, so please make sure you stay on top of communications from classroom teachers regarding any specifics for that day.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and we will see all of our Eagles back at the Nest for our second to last week of the 2024 - 2025 school year.

Spring Concerts at Elm

Spring Concerts Are Coming!

We’re excited to invite families to our End-of-Year Spring Concerts, happening May 29th and June 3rd!

This year, we’re introducing a new concert schedule. Instead of the usual three days of concerts, concerts will happen across two school days (May 29th and June 3rd), and we are shifting to an afternoon schedule.

This change is designed to minimize the impact on families' busy schedules and make it easier for families with children in multiple grades to attend all of their kids' performances. With this new format, we hope you have more flexibility to enjoy each concert!

Remaining Concert Date & Times:

  • Tuesday, June 3rd – Grades K, 1 and 2

    • 1:15pm: 2nd Grade

    • 1:50pm: 1st Grade

    • 2:25pm: Kindergarten

Over the last few weeks students in Grades K-5 have been reviewing songs and activities learned this year in preparation for their upcoming grade-level concerts. Performances will feature the culmination of their work demonstrating skills and concepts learned throughout the academic school year. Students are enthusiastically looking forward to sharing a “snapshot” of their musical experiences using song, instruments, improvisation, and movement. It has been a complete joy for me to hear and see them be so inspired to showcase their musical talents! I'm so proud of their accomplishments and I know you will be too. I hope you can join me in applauding our young musicians.

Due to traffic concerns, guests will not be allowed to enter the building until 5 minutes before the start of their child’s concert.

Thank you for supporting our amazing young musicians—we can’t wait to see you there!

End of the School Year Medication Pick Up Information

Please plan on picking up your child's medication the week of 6/9 between 9:30-2:30pm or on the last day of school (June 13th) until 12pm. The health office has stock Epi-Pens in the event of an emergency.

****If you have a grade 5 student, you will not be able to pick up their medication until 6/11 due to the Grade 5 Field Day on 6/10.

Unfortunately, I am unable to send home medication with your student and we are unable to store medication over the summer.

As a reminder, your child will need updated medication orders for the 2025-26 school year that are dated after 06/30/2025. I will reach out to you prior to the start of the school year with availability to drop off new orders and their medication(s).

Please let me know if you have any questions, concerns or need a different accommodation for pick up (ie if your child attends extended day AM/PM).
