A Note from Mrs. Phillips

Dear Hornet Families/Friends,

We are in full swing now with beginning of year data finishing up and NWEA complete. Teachers are deep in Vimme Math learning and scores are going in the gradebook. Routines and expectations have been taught, practiced, and implemented. We are back!

I have to give you all a huge round of applause because you showed up this year with our Chocolate sale. As many of you know, our PTO was depleted in funds from fraud. We are starting over and have many fun things planned for the Carnival. (We need YOU to have a successful carnival...please consider coming to our next meeting.) With all that being said, if all money is returned, we will have plenty of money to pay for all field trips and support our teacher's projects, relieving you of any extra money. This money is living in our school fund and is managed by our school. PTO will have opportunities, such as the carnival, to raise money for our school efforts.

Attendance, which greatly improved last year, is one of our state goals that we monitor. For the first 15 days, we are sitting at 96.8% as a school. Our goal is to maintain or exceed 95%. Thank you for getting your child to school, and on time! Here are the breakdowns:

K-95.9%

1-95.8%

2-97.1%

3-96.5%

4-96.6%

5-97.4%

6-98.2%

I hope you all had a wonderful start to the year and I look forward to learning and growing with you. If there is ever anything we could do better, please let us know. You can always reach out to me via Dojo, email, Facebook, or phone. I hope you have a great September!
