Next week is a short week with no school on Monday, October 13th, Thursday, October 16th, and Friday, October 17th. Even with the short week, we look forward to seeing our students during the two days of classes.

As the quarter concludes, please check the Parent Portal for any missing assignments or retake opportunities, as grades will be posted there at the end of the quarter.

Gratefully,

Aaron Hyer

Wear Pink! Wear Pink!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to honor the fighters, celebrate the survivors, and remember those we’ve lost. In support of this important cause, we’re encouraging everyone to wear PINK on W, October 15 to help raise awareness and show solidarity with those affected by breast cancer. Whether it’s a pink shirt, scarf, ribbon, or accessory—every splash of pink helps spread the message.

MAPS Digital Tools MAPS Digital Tools

Mankato Area Public Schools uses a variety of digital tools to support student learning. Technology vendors and software is utilized to support work as we help all students develop the skills necessary to succeed in an ever-changing world.

We have an inventory of our curriculum, testing, and assessment tools posted on our district website at bit.ly/4835DET (or directly to our Learn Platform page bit.ly/3R9xvRB). This list is maintained and communicated annually to all families at the start of the school year.

Please reach out to your building principal for additional questions regarding the use of the specific digital tools in classrooms. Please reach out to MAPS technology department regarding data, privacy, and vendor inquiries of the specific digital tools.

Sincerely,

Aaron Hyer, DMMS Principal

DMMS Families,

Our PTA and school community are deeply saddened by the loss of Autumn Paulson. We extend our heartfelt condolences to their family, teachers, and friends. We are here to support the family and faculty in any way they find helpful.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first PTA meeting of the year. Parents, Teachers, and Staff shared ideas and their passions for projects, discussed upcoming events, and started planning ways to make this year amazing for our students, families, and staff.

We’d love to see even more of you at our next meeting on October 27 at 6:00 at DMMS—your voice and involvement truly make a difference! If you can't make it in person or are stuck in a car somewhere at an activity, we understand. We are now offering an option to participate virtually.

Please read the attached letter for more information about what the PTA does and how your support helps enrich the lives of our kids and our community.

Together, we can do so much!
