Weekly Update
March 13, 2026
From the Principal
Happy (almost) Pi Day! March 14 is known as Pi Day since it refers to 3.14 (Pi) in math. This year it falls on a weekend, so make sure you treat yourself to a little pie tomorrow in its honor.
Today marked the end of the third quarter. We will work on grades and report cards should be posted by next Friday afternoon. If that changes, I will let you know. Even though this is a tough time to stay motivated as a student, ours are doing very well. The amount they have grown and learned this school year so far is impressive!
During our school improvement day today, we will be making some small adjustments to our emergency safety plan. I was fortunate to attend a training with our local first responders and there are some small language adjustments that we are all making. It is called the Standard Response Protocol. This will help each department and the schools know that we are using common language when it comes to each situation. I am attaching the parent information on this change below. Please take the time to read through it so you can be familiar with the language as well. It is also very specific about what happens in each situation, so you know what the kids are doing in each case. These are the only public pieces of information we are sharing about the plan. The rest of it remains confidential so we keep the kids safe during a real emergency. As always, if you have some specific question, please ask and I will give you as much information as I can.
Have a Great Weekend.
Mrs. Heitkamp

Kids Heart Challenge
We will be participating in the American Heart Association Kids Heart Challenge during the week of March 23- April 4. We have a school goal of raising $1500. The kids can earn prizes for raising money to help the American Heart Association. Mr. Michalsen will detail all of the information with students during PE class. We will also be teaching as many students as we can how to do "hands only" CPR. This is an important tool for everyone to know because it can help save a life.
