Opportunity for Youth Pumpkin, Gourd or Squash Exhibitors
A message for you from a former Cass County 4-Her
My name is Trey Lamkins, and I’m a Master’s student at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and the Graduate Research Assistant for Backyard Farmer.
I’m putting together a simple snapshot of pumpkin, gourd, and squash production in Nebraska for the 2025 season, and I would greatly appreciate your input. Could you help by answering a few quick questions?
- About how many acres (or square feet) of pumpkins, gourds, or squash did you grow in 2025? (If none, did you resell instead?)
- How many cultivars did you grow? (Number of Cultivars)
- What cultivars or types did you plant this year? (Names of different cultivars)
- What Nebraska County were your crops grown in?
- Optional: Address & Email
Tip: If you’re unsure of your growing area/field size, you can use Google Earth’s measuring tool to get a quick estimate.
That’s all I need, short and simple! Your answers will help create a clearer picture of the role these crops play in Nebraska agriculture this year.
