September Information
Happy September, Bulldog Families!
We have had a great start to the 2026–2027 school year! Thank you to all of our families for your patience, flexibility, and support as we navigated the first week of school. It has been wonderful welcoming our Bulldogs back to campus!
Car Drop-Off & Pick-Up Update
To help alleviate traffic congestion and reduce the long lines at our Highway 181 entrance, we are making an adjustment to our car drop-off and pick-up procedures.
Beginning Monday, August 31, second-grade students should be dropped off and picked up on the office side of the building. If your second grader has older siblings, those siblings should travel with the second-grade student for both morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up.
We appreciate your cooperation as we make this adjustment and work to make arrival and dismissal as safe and efficient as possible for everyone.
Beginning-of-Year Assessments
This month, we will complete our Beginning-of-Year (BOY) assessments. Students will participate in mCLASS and STAR Reading and Math assessments, as appropriate for their grade level. In addition, our third-grade students will take the North Carolina Beginning-of-Grade (BOG) Reading Assessment.
These assessments provide important baseline information about student performance. Our teachers will use the results to plan instruction, identify individual student needs, and select strategies that support academic growth throughout the year.
Students will be assessed again in January to measure midyear progress and in May to measure end-of-year growth. We look forward to celebrating how much our Bulldogs learn and grow!
