Welcome / Bienvenidos Dear Freedom Families,

An exciting week at Freedom began with our first ever clubs and activities fair on Tuesday. Each of Freedom's many clubs and activities created a display in the gym that described why students might be interested in joining. Students at every grade level were given time to view these displays and interact with club sponsors and students who were in the club. They could also sign up to receive more information about the clubs that interested them. Many clubs had over 50 students sign up fr information! Being involved in clubs and activities is a significant determinator of student academic success and helps to improve social-emotional well-being by creating a sense of belonging in the school community. We hope every student at Freedom will be involved in extra curricular activities. To find out more about our many clubs and activities please visit the athletics and clubs page on our website.

MAP Testing

Looking ahead, next week will be our first full week of school and we have many things happening! Students will be taking the MAP test on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in their ELA and math classes (there is no special schedule for MAP this year.). Students may be out of uniform in order to dress comfortably for these testing days.

Picture Day

We will pause MAP testing on Tuesday for school pictures. We look forward to seeing students loking their best for their school picture.

Getting into the habit of daily attendance is more important than ever. It helps to:

    • support learning

We are working to make our school environment a place where everyone can be safe, healthy and learning. We will do our best to listen and partner with you so that our children have a successful year.

    Breakfast

We are excited to remind you that Freedom Middle School offers both hot and cold breakfast options for all students every day starting at 7:45 AM in the lunchroom. Students should continue to enter through Door 1 and proceed directly to the MPR to enjoy breakfast before heading to class. Students who arrive after 8:07 will still be given the cold breakfast option and allowed to eat in class.

Eating breakfast every day has many benefits, including:

    • Improving focus and concentration in the classroom

    • Boosting energy levels throughout the morning
    • Supporting overall growth and development
    • Helping students be ready to learn and succeed

We encourage all students to take advantage of this opportunity to start their day with a healthy and nutritious meal!

Thank you for your continued support in helping our students be at their best every day.
