A Message from Dr. Christine Nadjarian, Principal
Dear Families,
We are look forward to welcoming you all to the St. Mary’s State of the School Address on Tuesday, March 10th, from 5:00–6:00 pm in the lower church hall. All parents are invited, and I strongly encourage you to attend.
This is an important event and a great opportunity for you to hear from our Pastor, Administrative Team, and me on updates regarding academic excellence, student life, enrollment, development, finance, and facilities. We have spent significant time preparing for this presentation because we believe deeply in open communication, transparency, and partnership with our families.
Your support and involvement are essential to the continued strength of our school. We hope to see the room full and the energy strong, as this is meant to be a true community moment, bringing together everyone who cares about St. Mary’s and its future.
Please note that this meeting is for parents only. Students who are registered for EDP are welcome to remain at school until 6:00 pm, and infant and toddler students may stay in their classrooms until 5:30 pm.
Thank you for your continued support of St. Mary’s. I look forward to seeing many of you on Tuesday evening,
Have a restful weekend!

Morning Annoucements
Thank you to Azrial, Violet, and Advik, in grades 5, 4, and 3 respectively, for leading the school in Friday morning announcements! They lead a prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance, and shared some important updates for the school regarding upcoming events, band schedules, and pizza Friday. Great job, S.T.A.R.S.!
Middle School Bake Sale
Our Middle School S.T.A.R.S. are excited to host this year’s Bake Sale, featuring lots of delicious baked goods you won’t want to miss! From cookies and brownies to other sweet surprises, there will be something for everyone.
All proceeds will support two great causes: helping purchase a new soccer net for all St. Mary’s students to enjoy during recess and supporting transportation costs for the Middle School overnight Farm School field trip to Inn at East Hill Farm. During this special trip, students will be immersed in farm life: learning about farming, animal husbandry, and teamwork at this quaint New England farm! Thank you for supporting our students and these unique and special experiences! We’ll happily accept cash or credit at the bake sale, taking place right after school on March 9, 10, and 11. We hope you’ll stop by, grab a treat, and help support our S.T.A.R.S. bakers! 🧁
An Evening at the Brookline Booksmith
Join St. Mary's at the Brookline Booksmith on Thursday, March 26 from 5:30-7:30pm. During this time, the Booksmith will donate a portion of its proceeds to St. Mary's. We will have a table with activities for students and swag for sale, so stop by to say hello! This is a perfect opportunity to purchase those Easter basket goodies!
Save the Date!
Please save the date for a special evening: St. Mary’s Casino Night on Friday, May 8!
Join us for a fun evening featuring food, drinks, casino-style games, and time to enjoy the company of fellow parents and friends of our school community. This exciting event will be a wonderful way for us to come together while supporting the many opportunities and experiences we provide for our students.
More details and ticket information will be shared soon. We hope you’ll mark your calendars and plan to join us!

Volunteer Opportunities
We have a few volunteer opportunities coming up this month! See below for information and sign up links:
- Middle School Bake Sale (March 9,10,11): Our middle school students are raising funds for their activities, in particular, transportation to their overnight field trip at the Inn at East Hill Farm. We are in need of baked good donations for them to sell as well as some volunteers to help with selling.
- Phone Tree for Easter Flowers: St. Mary's is doing an all-school Easter service project at the end of the month during which they will bring cards and flowers to elderly parishioners who live in the area. We are in need of volunteers to help plan the routes and to call the parishioners to see if they will be home for the special Easter delivery!
- Evening at the Brookline Booksmith (March 26): The Brookline Booksmith is generously donating a portion of their sales from the evening of March 26th to St. Mary's! We will have a table at the event with some activities for customers. We are in need of volunteers to help manage these activities! More details to follow.
Scrapbooking Club
The K2–2 Scrapbooking Club with Miss Johnson has been a creative highlight of the week! Each session features a different theme, giving students new inspiration and ideas for their scrapbooks. Their pages for that week are all focused on the theme. This week’s theme was holidays! Students brought in special photos from celebrations and used colorful papers, stickers, and other fun materials to design pages that capture their favorite memories of Christmas, Valentine's Day, Halloween, and more! It has been wonderful to see their creativity shine as they share stories and build scrapbooks filled with meaningful moments.
Middle School Leadership Seminar
Our Leadership Seminar class has been busy engaging in some very memorable experiences! We are especially grateful to one of our wonderful parents who hosted the Middle School cohort for an ice skating field trip to Larz Anderson Park! It was a fantastic day, and a great opportunity for faculty, parent chaperones, and students to spend time together outside of the classroom. Thank you, Middle School families, for helping create such a fun and memorable experience for our group!
Our cohort has also been hard at work planning our upcoming ANNUAL BAKE SALE! This will take place Monday through Wednesday of this upcoming week. Your support makes such a sweet difference (pun intended), and we all appreciate the community coming together to help our students bring this project to life. In Seminar this week, we finally finished watching Remember the Titans, thinking about the powerful themes presented in the film: race relations, segregation, teamwork, tolerance, togetherness, acceptance, and leadership. Students are encouraged to continue to reflect on how these ideas connect to their own lives and how they can help to build an inclusive and kind community every day. A quick logistical note: promotional filming (for all students with media releases) will take place on Monday, March 9th during Leadership Seminar. Students are asked to bring their clean, regular SMA uniform to change into for filming. Thank you in advance for helping make this run smoothly and for always being flexible and accommodating!
Looking ahead, there is a lot of excitement on the horizon as we prepare for several upcoming experiences including the Farm School overnight and a Boston Day for the entire cohort! It is shaping up to be a wonderful season of learning, leadership, and adventure for our Middle School S.T.A.R.S.!
