Welcome Back!!
Dear Families,
Thank you for an incredible first week of school! It has been a joy welcoming your children into our classrooms, and we are so grateful for your support and partnership in making the start of the school year a huge success.
As we look ahead, we want to emphasize that consistent attendance is one of the most powerful ways to ensure your child's success this year. Coming to school every day helps students build strong friendships, stay caught up on their learning, and develop excellent habits for the future.
Every day of learning matters, and your dedication to getting your child to school on time makes a world of difference. Thank you for making attendance a priority and for being such an important part of our school community.
Here is to a wonderful school year ahead!
Warmly,
Debbie Swett, Principal
Picture Day ๐ธ
School Picture Day is Thursday, September 24. Information about ordering will be coming home in a couple of weeks. You can also place your orders online at inter-state.com/order with code 0642XHA.
Extra Clothes ๐๐๐งฆ๐ฉฒ
Kids play hard at school, sometimes they get dirty and wet, and at times they have accidents. We do not have a lot of extra clothes at school, therefore, it would be very helpful if you could pack a set of extra clothes, socks and underware in your child's backpack just in case they are needed.
Please Return School Forms ๐๐๐
Thank you to everyone who has filled out the important beginning of the year school forms. I know it can be time consuming, but these forms are extremely important. If you have not had a chance to fill them out and send them back to your child's teacher in thier red school folder, please take a moment to do so. It is greatly appreciated!!
Toys & Playground ๐
Students should not be bringing toys to school and that includes balls. They will not be allowed to use them at school, therefore, all toys and valuable items should be left at home.
Please also note that if you stay and play on the playgrounds after school dismissal, please keep an eye on your children and encourage respectful and safe play. There are no teachers on duty after school. Thank you for your support with this! ๐
Weekly Attendance โ
Four classes met their 95% attendance goal this week!! Great job making sure your child is attending school everyday!! PreK, First, Second, and Third Grades' bees all climbed closer to their flower. Please help us try to meet our goal every week by making daily attendance a priority!
Weekly Attendance:
PreK - 100%
Kindergarten - 94.96%
First Grade - 98.48%
Second Grade - 100
Third Grade - 95.83%
School Wide - 97.69%
Congratulations to PreK, First Grade, Second Grade and Third Grade for reaching your 95% attendance goal!! ๐ Watch your ๐ climb!!
Let's all work hard to reach our 95% attendance goal next week so we can move our bees up!! ๐๐
๐๐๐Attendance Initiative ๐๐๐
We will continue our attendance initiative we started last spring. Every week a grade level collectively hits their 95% attendance rate goal their bumble bee will go up a notch on their flowers stem! Once their bee makes it to the class flower (6 weeks), they will get a celebration prize! Let's see how many times we can reach our goal this year!!
PTO Update
Our first PTO meeting will be Tuesday, September 8 at 5:30 pm. Our PTO is a fabulous group of parents that work hard to support the students and staff at Vine Street School. They meet once a month to plan events, fundraisers, and fun for Vine Street. Come join the fun and help support our great school!
I will also be doing a Volunteer Training that night. If you want to volunteer at school this year and you were not trained last year, you will want to come. Volunteer training must be done before you can help out at school. The background check takes about two weeks, so you will want to get this done earlier rather than later, so you can be ready to volunteer as soon as you want to.
