📚 Library Card Design Contest – “Reading is Revolutionary!”
Students in grades K–7 are invited to participate in a special Library Card Design Contest hosted by the Reading Public Library! This year’s theme, “Reading is Revolutionary,” celebrates our country’s 250th anniversary and will also be featured in the library’s Summer Reading program. One student’s design will be selected by the Library Board of Trustees and turned into a limited-edition library card available in September for National Library Card Sign-Up Month!

IMPORTANT: Student Drop Off and Pick Up
Morning Arrival
Students must be in class by 8:25 to be marked on-time and present. If a student arrives after this time, please accompany them to the main office to sign in. To minimize classroom disruptions, we ask that parents do not bring students directly to their classrooms.
To help ensure a smooth and efficient arrival for everyone, please remember that morning drop-off is a Rolling Drop-Off. This means cars should continue moving through the line, and children should be ready to exit the vehicle quickly when you reach the designated spot. For safety and to keep traffic flowing, we ask that families remain in their cars and do not park or get out to assist their child during this time. Staff members are available to help students as needed.
Afternoon Pick Up
At dismissal, we kindly ask that families avoid picking up students in the circle unless absolutely necessary. Buses use this area for student pickup, and stopping in the circle can block them and delay dismissal for many students. If you are picking up your child, please plan to park along the street and walk to meet your child.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping arrival and dismissal safe and streamlined for all!
Dismissal Reminder - ID Requirement
If anyone other than a parent/guardian is dismissing your child, please make sure to let the office know, in advance, the name of the authorized person and remind them they will need a photo ID. This is a safety measure that we take very seriously. We greatly appreciate your support.
Breakfast and Lunch
METCO unites suburban towns with Boston to engage in a reciprocal learning partnership in support of all students. Because of this, every child who attends school in Reading Public Schools is a METCO student and every parent or guardian who has a student in RPS is a part of the METCO community.
SEPAC works for the understanding of, respect for, and support of, all children with special needs in the community (including ALL children on IEPs or 504 plans and children who may require specialized support). Reading SEPAC IS OPEN TO ALL parents/caregivers, not only families who have a child with special needs as we offer various opportunities to connect with other families and provide learning experiences.
