Happy Holidays!
Greetings and Salutations!
ASASP Family,
With Thanksgiving and Pearl Harbor Day behind us, the holiday season is in full swing. It is hard to believe that today is 88 days in on our 210 day calendar and we've already had two inclement weather impacted days the first week of December.
With just ten days of class left in December, the Winter Break will be here before you know it. In the meantime keep your head down, stay focused and try to maintain your well-being as the season of giving and spending ramps up.
Your health and well being are the most important things you have, so try not to get caught up in senseless unnecessary confrontation. Do what you can to create peace in your work place, good will towards all that you encounter each day. By doing this each day, you will find yourself feeling less stressed, and better able to focus on those things that are most important.

Sub Pay Coverage/Overtime Pay
Make sure that you are dotting every i and crossing every t according to policy and procedure. I cannot stress enough the need for fiscal responsibility in regards to substitute coverage and overtime pay, particularly in these stressful budgetary times. Be careful using loopholes and paying people extra who are not entitled. Email me if you have questions or concerns with which we can assist you. Get the facts on the budget firsthand from Dr. Joseph.

Superintendent's Decision..... No One Else!
2 Hour Delay is the Superintendent's Call...... Not Yours, Your Principal or Supervisor!
Some members actually had to contact the office twice last week to ask if they should follow the superintendent's directive or if they should follow their principal's directive on the two days that PGCPS has adjusted the opening of school due to inclement weather condition.
Supervisors, principals, please don't overstep your authority by requiring employees to come in for a meeting or whatever, after the superintendent has made his decision. None of us want to be responsible for someone being injured in an accident because we made someone feel they had to report regardless.
Please advocate for yourself and stand ten toes down on what the superintendent's decision, the union will back you up on that, all day every day!!

ASASP Believes You Were Shorted Your 1st Paycheck of the FY 2026
Were fighting to right the wrong that we believe was done to you through a rushed process this past summer when you were hired to be the 12 month Assistant Principal. Today, I need for you to send me a copy of your position notification letter informing you of your new 12 month status. I will be meeting with the superintendent and the chief of human resources this week to follow-up on this matter. I cannot convey enough the importance of your response and participation today.
