Letter fromthe PrincipalMustang Memo: August 1, 2025

2025-2026 School Year 2025-2026 School Year

Preparing students for success in an ever-changing world. Preparing students for success in an ever-changing world.

Dear WES families,

We hope you’ve been enjoying the beautiful summer weather and taking advantage of the extra time outdoors — along with (hopefully!) a break from the busy school-year schedules. As always, summer seems to fly by, and now that August has arrived, the weeks will continue to move quickly.

It’s been a busy and productive summer at WES!
Here are just a few of the things that have been happening over the past several weeks:

  • Summer School programs at Line and MMS

  • Learning Works summer session

  • Deep cleaning of classrooms and interior spaces

  • New basketball hoop installed on playground

  • Masonry repairs at the main entrance

  • Groundskeeping, including weeding and tree trimming

  • Student artwork displayed at Central Office

  • And of course, a little time to relax and recharge!

As we begin looking ahead to the start of a new school year, this is a great time to ease back into a school routine. Establishing regular bedtimes, picking out clothes the night before, and packing snacks or lunches for camp or daycare are all simple steps that can help make the transition back to school smoother for your child(ren).

We’re looking forward to another great year together and will be sharing more updates soon!

Respectfully,

Mrs. LeSieur- Principal

Mr. Stinson- Assistant Principal

Annual Verification Annual Verification

Please read the message from IT regarding updating ParentVue.

In an ongoing effort to keep our student information as current and accurate as possible RSU 57 utilizes an annual verification process. This is for all returning students to RSU 57 from the 2025-26 school year. (Students new to RSU 57 must be registered via the “2025/2026 New Student Registration” portal in ParentVUE.)

This process ensures we have the most current information for each of our students and their family so that we may communicate effectively with families and it best ensures the safety of our students. Families are asked to review the information the district has on file in ParentVUE and make any needed changes, as well as read and acknowledge the included policies and/or required annual questions. This verification process will take 5-10 mins or less. If you do not know your ParentVUE login please email parentvue@rsu57.org for assistance. You will hear back between the hours of 7:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

Please visit https://rsu57.incidentiq.com/kb/articles/a6f65974-1815-4444-8ff3-ea4aa1482d5a for detailed instructions on how to complete this important process. Please note that ALL returning students must have this annual verification completed prior to the start of the school year. We appreciate your assistance with this effort to ensure each of our RSU 57 students has up-to-date information in our student information system.

We wish you all a healthy and happy remainder of summer.

Having Trouble Viewing Info Having Trouble Viewing Info

The mobile app does not display a full page of the typical ParentVUE app at once, so you will likely need to scroll/slide the screen around to view all of the contents on any given page when on mobile. Typically the teachers are listed to the far right of the list in line with the classes they teach, so you would most likely need to slide to that side to see the teachers listed.

Alternatively, because there are these display differences, we do recommend given the computer version of ParentVUE a try at https://me-wat.edupoint.com/Frameset_PXP.aspx?P=Login_Parent_PXP.aspx to better view all of the ParentVUE pages.

Welcome Letters Welcome Letters

Please find the welcome letters and supply lists for each grade level teacher. Families will be able to find their child's teacher in ParentVue once the annual verification has been completed..

PreK/Kindergarten Meet and Greet PreK/Kindergarten Meet and Greet

Families of PreK and Kindergarten students will be contacted in early August to schedule a meet and greet. This special event will take place on September 2nd between 9:00 a.m. and 2:45 p.m.

Each child will be assigned a 30-minute time slot to meet school staff, explore their classroom, and complete a few simple back-to-school assessments. This helps students become familiar with their new environment and some of the teachers they’ll have this year. Families will check in at door 8.

Please note: During this time, parents will not accompany their child into the classroom. School staff will be there to warmly welcome and guide them through the visit.

We’re excited to begin this new journey with our youngest learners!

Student Art Work Student Art Work

Throughout the school year, students created several pieces of artwork. Some were individually created while others are group projects. Mrs. Nucci took several of these art pieces and hung them at central office and the meeting space where board meeting are held at the East building. It is exciting to see the WES student art work on display.

Summer Reading Summer Reading

Read to Ride

Reading over the summer is a great way to keep skills strong and continue building a love for books! Just 10–20 minutes of reading each day can make a big difference in maintaining and improving your child’s reading abilities.

We encourage all students to set a summer reading goal and track their progress using the form provided. Completed forms will be due in September 2025.

As an added bonus, one WES student will have the chance to win a new bike in spring 2026 just for participating!

Happy reading! 📚🚲

Sun Bucks Sun Bucks

The SunBucks Program is back this year through the Department of Health and Human Services! This is a summer feeding program where each student who has applied for school meal benefits—or whose household uses SNAP, MaineCare, TANF, or is identified as McKinney-Vento—will receive an EBT card in the mail with $120 to help supplement food while school is out. There is also an option to apply manually. These cards expire after 122 days.
