Principal's Message
Good Evening Weymouth High School Community,
March is a busy and exciting month filled with academic and extracurricular opportunities that allow all of our students to shine and showcase their talents. Our Athletic Director, Mrs. Kelly took 10 student-athletes to the annual Bay State Conference Sophomore Leadership Summit. The students participated in coach-led workshops with other peers on topics such as mental health, leadership, healthy habits and the college recruiting process, with expertise shared by our own Coach Donovan. Great job to all!
We wrapped up the week with the exciting finals of our March Madness tournament, bringing great energy and school spirit to our building. The event began with our Unified Basketball Team tipping things off with a fun intersquad game, setting the tone for an afternoon of community and inclusion. A total of 42 teams competed throughout the week, and the championship games were held during periods 6 and 7 on Friday in front of nearly 600 enthusiastic students. Congratulations to our winners: NBA Division – The Force (Mr. Whitaker, Jack Ryan, and Bella Pires) and College Division – AirBallers (Mrs. Bryon, Andrew Nagle, and Shane Barr). It was a great week of friendly competition that showcased the strong sense of community at our school.
Over the weekend, our Dance Team delivered an outstanding performance at the New England Dance Championship, earning 1st Runner-Up in Pom and an impressive 4th place finish in Jazz. Their dedication, talent, and hard work throughout the season truly shined on the competition stage. Congratulations to the team on a fantastic season!
At the same time, our WHS Theatre Company took the stage at the METG Semi-Finals and delivered a winning performance, advancing to the state finals later this month. This is an incredible accomplishment and a testament to the creativity, collaboration, and commitment of our student performers and directors.
Our DECA Club competed at the State Competition this week as well, representing WHS with professionalism and dedication. While they will not be advancing to the next round, competing at the state level is a significant accomplishment and provides our students with valuable experience in leadership, business strategy, and presentation skills.
Last weekend, two of our competitive extracurricular clubs represented Weymouth High School in impressive fashion as they competed alongside talented students from across the region and beyond in Model UN and Robotics competitions.
Our Robotics Team also had a fantastic showing at their competition in Billerica, advancing to the third round of eliminations and earning the prestigious Engineering Inspiration Award. This award recognizes teams that demonstrate exceptional success in promoting respect and appreciation for engineering within their school and community. As a result, the team has qualified to compete in the New England FIRST District Championship from April 15–18. Their next competition will take place at the University of Rhode Island from March 19–21, and all are welcome to attend and cheer them on. The team is also selling pink team t-shirts for $15 to help support their program. Students interested in learning more about Robotics can attend meetings on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2:30 in Room 2014.
Congratulations to the 23 members of the WHS Model United Nations Travel Team, who joined more than 500 delegates from high schools across the U.S. and around the world at the Boston College High School Model UN Conference. Several students earned recognition for their outstanding work: Annabelle Nicolar and Emma O’Hara DaSilva received the Best Negotiator Award, Tolu Abioye and Wren Sherriff earned the People’s Choice Award, and Mia Kiley, Ary Martinez Peguero, and Chloe Nigro were each named Best Delegate in their respective committees. Students interested in joining Model UN for the 2026–2027 school year can attend meetings every Thursday in Room 3052.
Congratulations to all teams for representing WHS with such pride and excellence!

Scheduling Timeline for the 2026 - 2027 school year.
Mark your calendars! Join us for Course Selection Night on March 18th, 2026, at 7 PM in the auditorium. This event is open to all current 9th–11th grade families. Come learn about all the exciting course offerings available to your students and get all your questions answered. See you there!
ELA MCAS - We are approaching the start of our MCAS testing for 10th grade students. On March 24th and 25th, they will take the ELA MCAS exam. This assessment is an important opportunity for students to demonstrate the knowledge and skills they have gained through their hard work.
MCAS is also an important part of our school’s state accountability report, and overall student performance can play a role in how the state evaluates schools and, in some cases, influences future funding and resources. Because of this, it is important that every student approaches the exam seriously and does their very best.
We ask that families help support their students in a few simple ways:
How you can help your student prepare
Encourage them to get a good night’s sleep
Make sure they eat breakfast before the exam (free breakfast is available at school)
Remind them to bring their fully charged Chromebook both days
Please note that participation in MCAS is required by the state. Every student must sit for each exam at least once before graduation. If a student is absent on either testing day, they will still be required to attend a make-up testing session.
In addition, students who perform well on the MCAS may qualify for state scholarships, including the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship and the Stanley Z. Koplik Certificate of Mastery, which can provide significant financial benefits for if they attend any of our state colleges or universities.
Most importantly, we want students to show what they know. Your encouragement at home can make a big difference in helping students feel confident and prepared.
Thank you for your continued support of our students and our school community. Let’s work together to help our Wildcats shine! Here is the schedule for the ELA MCAS.
Have a great week!

Last Call for Yearbook Senior Baby Pictures
Last Call for Yearbook Senior Baby Pictures
- Yearbooks for seniors are included in the class dues and fundraising efforts. The Senior Class orders a book for every senior. To offset the cost that the Senior Class pays to purchase every senior a yearbook, we offer “Baby Ads.”
- This is a fun tradition at WHS -- and is usually a surprise for the seniors. Families submit a baby or toddler photo of their senior and a personal message to their graduate. The price is $30 per ad.
All baby ads must be submitted by March 31. To include your Senior student’s photo and a message in the Class of 2026 section of the Yearbook, please follow this 2-step process:
Families will sign up and pay on the coffeepond.com website. Go to the “Order Yearbooks” section and use the code: WHSBA.
Next families will upload their message and baby/toddler photo using this Form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeOS75mSbGb_wnDhzD65AqJ2ZE2B8lGkyCskJiD0lPPYCPu5Q/viewform
Note: Families are not limited to one ad per senior; sometimes aunts, uncles, and grandparents submit their own ads separately.
