The Hive Happenings

Fridays at MHS are truly something special! We started the day with our incredible student leaders from Cheer, Football, and Cross Country helping with morning drop-off duty at the elementary — spreading smiles and showing our youngest Yellow Jackets what school spirit looks like. Our teachers joined in the fun too, greeting students with big energy and even live guitar music at the doors!

Later, the whole campus came together for a wonderful outdoor send-off pep rally, filling the air with cheers, pride, and excitement for our Yellow Jackets. Another highlight was the very first meeting of our Fellowship of Christian Athletes, which brought students together in a positive and uplifting way.

From student leadership to spirited traditions to staff who go above and beyond, the energy on campus is contagious. Fridays at MHS are all about Yellow Jacket pride, community, and good vibes all around!

🎉🐝 Homecoming Week at MHS is almost here! 🐝🎉

We’re kicking things off with the Homecoming Parade and Community Pep Rally on Monday, Sept. 29th—a time for our whole town to come together and celebrate Jacket pride!

And that’s just the beginning! Throughout the week, our students and staff will show off their Jacket spirit with fun dress-up days (see the picture below 👇).

Let’s pack the streets, fill the stands, and make this Homecoming Week one to remember! 💛🖤

We are proud to recognize Brooklyn Woosley, Harper Robertson, Addyson Scott, and Victoria Bible as our Players of the Week (Aug 25th - 29th) in Coach Bailey's "Dugout." These Students were chosen by their peers and consistently demonstrate a positive attitude, responsibility, and kindness toward others. They have shown great effort in the classroom, participates thoughtfully, and sets a wonderful example for classmates. Keep up the excellent work!

Congratulations to the Lady Jackets for winning the Silver Bracket Consolation Championship this weekend! Dyna Potter was selected as an alternate for the All Tournament Team! Every day is a great day to be a Jacket!

The Class of 2028 will begin selling Homecoming T-shirts on Tuesday, September 2. Orders will be accepted until September 22. Shirts will be white, short-sleeve, and available in either soft cotton or Dri-Fit. The names of all football, band, cheer, cross country, and volleyball members, as well as FFA officers, will be printed on the back. Attached is the order form. Orders and payments may be turned in to Coach L. Schur or to the High School or Elementary offices.

Pink Out shirts will go on sale September 3 - 15. Order forms will be sent out to students. Stay tuned for more information!

Zach Sterling

An anonymous individual nominated Coach Sterling for Gold Stars. They stated, " Coach Sterling was seen at the game talking with his wife and when he looked over and seen a player standing alone and upset, he stopped the conversation and went over to talk with the player and gave him a hug. He has always went above and beyond for his players and is such a good addition to this team. "

Jasmin Brown was nominated anonymously for being a kindness champion. They said, "She’s always so kind to everyone and makes everyone feel so welcome!!"
