Dear PLES Families,

What a wonderful week at Penn London! Our learners explored fire safety with the West Grove Fire Company through an engaging assembly and hands-on tour of their fire equipment and vehicles.

We also kicked off our biggest fundraiser of the year—Boosterthon! Thank you in advance for your support, which directly funds school assemblies, playground upgrades, curricular extensions, and more.

We are excited to celebrate Halloween at PLES on Friday, October 30! Here is everything you need to know about costumes, watching the parade, and photo permissions:

🎃 Costume Guidelines

• Students may wear their costumes to school on Friday, October 30.

• Please ensure costumes are comfortable and safe for students to navigate their school day independently.

• No weapon replicas or violent accessories are permitted.

📹 Public Livestream & Photo Permissions

• Watch Live: The parade will be livestreamed publicly on the district website on October 30 and saved for internal viewing by Avon Grove families afterward.

• Photo Permissions: Because this event is streamed publicly, participating students must have photo permission enabled in PowerSchool.

  • Need to update your child's status? Parents cannot edit permissions directly in PowerSchool. If you'd like to update your child's photo permissions so they can participate, please email your child's teacher directly.

• Alternate Activities: Any student not participating will enjoy fun, supervised activities in the library or purposeful playroom.

Note: Most students are minimally identifiable during the parade due to costumes, masks, wigs, and accessories!

PBIS Highlight: Building a Positive Classroom Culture

This week, our students focused on being "Bucket Fillers" by learning how kind acts, respectful words, and listening the first time help lift up our classroom community!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As part of Avon Grove School District’s school health services program, annual height and weight screenings at Penn London will begin on Thursday, October 22. We expect the screenings to take approximately 2 days. A school nurse or other qualified health care practitioner will take the measurements privately.

If you do not want your child to participate, please send a written exemption request to myself, Jennifer DiFelice , at the health office before your child is called for screening. If we do not have an exemption on file before your child’s screening, your child will participate as scheduled.
