A NIGHT OF GIVING AT EHS ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING DINNER
Thanks to everyone who came out Thursday to the EHS Alternative Education Program Community Thanksgiving Dinner.
We had a great turnout for the event, with over 350 individuals served a Thanksgiving dinner. This was the 2nd annual Alt Ed Thanksgiving Community Dinner at EHS. Our students served drinks, pies and hosted the reception area.
We counted on our Alt Ed families, EHS community and staff, ESD personnel and board members and local businesses to help with all aspects of the event. Those efforts included cooking, advertising, basket items, funding, supplies and desserts. Because of that community wide effort, the end result was a highly successful event.
Additionally, the event also raised money for the Alt Ed program to purchase supplies, books and to take part in educational and team building events.
Thanks again to the community for supporting the event and for taking part. We look forward to seeing you all again next year!

SINGING HILLS ELEMENTARY STUDENTS COMPETE AT FIRST LEGO LEAGUE CHALLENGE
High fives all around!
This month, two teams of FIRST Lego League Challenge students went to Bear Creek Elementary in Monument for a qualifying Colorado tournament. Each team consisted of seven 4th and 5th grade students from Singing Hills Elementary.
The teams were coached by Susan McMullen (STEM) and Ashlyn Crossland (PE).
The Shipwreckers team came in 16th out of 24 teams and the Legorines team came in 14th. Our teams had a lot of fun with this challenging competition!
Teams are evaluated on their robot design, research project presentation, robot game performance on a designated field, and demonstration of FIRST core values like teamwork and gracious professionalism.
While technical skills are important, teams are also judged on how they embody the FIRST core values, like teamwork, inclusion, and gracious professionalism.
ELIZABETH MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS SERVE LUNCH TO VETERANS
100 years of service.
That's about how much was in the room for the Veteran's Day Lunch at Elizabeth Middle School. A special thanks to NJHS, Mrs. Kaumeyer and Mrs. Neelley for helping organize this wonderful event.
This was rescheduled due to the snowstorm, so it turned out to be a nice way to honor our Veterans beyond the actual Veterans Day. Our vets deserve to be honored year round!
The students were thrilled to serve lunch to this group and saw it as their way of giving back to those who have given so much to our country.
EHS POMS TEAM MAKES HISTORY
They have a list, and they are checking it......three times!
Congratulations to EHS Poms!
The Poms league competition was held this month at Vista Ridge High School. This league competition has three different leagues here. Not only did Elizabeth win the CSML-North league, their score was the highest of all the dance teams amongst all three leagues, placing the team as Grand Champions! Elizabeth Poms is classified as 3A this year, and their score surpassed 4A and 5A teams. They also brought home the “Best Choreography” award.
This is the first time in Poms program history to win a league title, and bring back a first place trophy in Poms to Elizabeth High School. Proud moment!
EHS PERFORMING ARTS STUDENTS TAKE THE SPOTLIGHT IN FALL PLAY
Bravo!
EHS Performing Arts students completed their showings of this year's Fall play, "The Hound of the Baskervilles". The play was billed as a comic thriller starring Shirley Holmes and Jennie Watson, adapted and dramatized by Kent R. Brown and inspired by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Novel.
The performances were originally scheduled for early November, but had to be rescheduled due to the snowstorm and subsequent school closures.
The rescheduled play continued on November 14th, 15th and 16th.
Thanks to everyone in the community who showed up to support our students and program!
