Hello Williamsville! And, welcome back to school!

I, along with our Board of Education, Leadership Team, building administrators, teachers, and support staff, am so glad you are here.

As we begin the 2026-2027 school year, I want to remind our students, families, and staff to regularly monitor and check the WITS event calendar for up-to-date information on building events and activities. Please also be sure to check your email for important messages from your teachers, building admin teams, and of course your PTA, PTSA, or SEPTSA.

While the first month of the school year is full of open houses, athletic practices and games, there are several key items to keep in mind.

First, please be patient during the first few weeks of school, especially as it relates to drop-off, pick-up, and bus transportation. From our youngest learners to our high school students who may be behind the wheel for the first time, we want all members of our school community to arrive at school or home safely each day. With the start of school, we know there will be more traffic on the road, and a constant stop and go with buses and other traffic patterns. We have an incredible partnership with the Town of Amherst, which provides crossing guards to ensure the students who walk or ride a bike are also safe.

For bus transportation, we are still utilizing the My Ride K-12 app. If you have any questions regarding the app, please visit the My Ride K-12 informational page on the District’s website to learn more about account setup and monitoring. As a reminder, ā€œOut of Serviceā€ buses will still be available to review on the WITS parent portal homepage.

Next, Distraction Free School Zones remain in effect. I want to thank our students, families, faculty and staff for their incredible work in adhering to the Governor’s legislation last year. As a reminder, the infractions report for the 2025-2026 school year is available on the District website.

Parent and guardian participation is paramount in the District, and we are actively looking for additional members for the following committees:

  • Communications
  • Safety
  • Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC)
  • Wellness

If you would like to participate any of these, please send an email of interest to contact@williamsvillek12.org and indicate which group you would like join.

Finally, the first Board of Education Meeting for the school year is scheduled for tonight, Tuesday, September 8th at the District Office. Like with all of our Board meetings, stakeholders can join us in person or watch via the LIVE stream on YouTube.

There is no school for students on Monday, September 21st, for Yom Kippur, which is also a Superintendent’s Conference Day this year. While students will not be in school, our faculty and staff will participate in engaging professional learning opportunities.

It is truly great to see the smiles and excitement as we opened our doors for the first day of school. I’m looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish together this year!

School Enrollment and Immigration School Enrollment and Immigration

Rights of and Protections for Students, Parents and Persons in a Parental Relation related to School Enrollment and Immigration

In 1984, the United States Supreme Court ruled it is unconstitutional to deny undocumented children access to a free, public K-12 education. This ruling is still in place today and is the law. The Williamsville Central School District is committed to ensuring students have equal access to education, regardless of immigration status, national origin, citizenship, or any other protected reason, and strictly complies with the Supreme Court’s decision.

The Williamsville Central School District takes all legally allowable steps to protect students while they are attending school. The school has strict protocols in place for handling requests from immigration officials for (1) information about students; (2) cooperation with immigration enforcement activities; and (3) requests for a student to be released to immigration authorities.

Parents and persons in a parental relationship should make sure the Williamsville Central School District has updated emergency contact information, including a list of all individuals authorized to pick your child up from school, in the event you are unavailable to do so. Please contact the Main Office of your child’s school at the number below to provide any necessary updates:
