What is the Parent Center?
Come visit our Parent Center located at Bloomington High School (Room 65), all parents, students, and community members are WELCOME. We host special events, and workshops for the surrounding community, along with providing resources for those most in need in our Bruin community.
The Center is a resource for parents to collaborate with teachers in their children’s education.
We welcome all Bloomington High School parents to participate in the English Language Advisory Council known as ELAC they meet monthly at the Parent Center throughout the school year. Attendance and support is highly recommended.
Our Community Liaisons on site are Blanca Haro and Claudia Ureno. Both are fully Bilingual and they facilitate the center and maintain communication with parents, teachers, students, and the overall surrounding community.

Parent Institute for Quality Education- PIQE
The Family Engagement Program seeks to educate, empower, and inspire families to take an active role in their student’s education while building community and a peer-to-peer network. Families are engaged in programming that encourages fostering a positive educational environment at home and at school to increase academic success. Families better understand how to navigate the school system, access relevant information for student success, and college admission requirements.
- 8-week program | Orientation, 5 weeks of content, Community Dialogue, Graduation
- Once a week, 75 minute-sessions
- Includes Social Emotional and Digital Literacy Component
