KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION FOR 2023-2024 IS NOW OPEN!

Registration for the 2023-2024 school year opened on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. Families with a student who is entering kindergarten at Neshaminy can begin the process by visiting the registration website, www.neshaminy.org/register

Tawanka's kindergarten has filled up the last two years, so make sure to register your student soon!

Nurse's Office

The Nurse's office needs your help! We are in need of clothing donations for our students.

We especially need pants in smaller sizes and brand new packs of underwear.

Mrs. Geers

Fourth grade Eagle Ambassador, Alexis, helps students every morning in Mrs. Geers kindergarten class. She is making a big difference in our school by assisting other students. The Eagle Ambassadors are new to Tawanka this year and help out in a variety of ways.

Mrs. Kane

Mrs. Kane's class has Eagles fever!

Mrs. Neff

Mrs. NEFF's kindergarten class recently welcomed Ms. Donnelly, our guidance counselor, to the classroom.

Neshaminy School District uses the research based Second Step program to support Social and Emotional Learning. The kindergarten students explored and identified feelings with Miss Donnelly. Being aware your feelings is an important for making good choices. The boys and girls enjoyed having Miss Donnelly all to themselves too❤️

Art Class

Kindergarten students learned about collaboration, unity, shape, and texture in the art room. They worked on making a square for a paper quilt. Students were given construction paper to cut out a square and a circle. They then used a magic texture plate to give their circle more color and interest. When students finished their project, it was added to the large paper quilt. You can see their hard work in front of the office!

Mrs. Fedele

Mr. Palmer came to read a story from one of the pilot programs, Into Reading, which was about one of his favorite topics. The story was about presidents and part of the Celebrate America unit.

Art Class

In Art class, first graders learned about landscapes, the Northern Lights, and arctic animals. They used chalk pastels to make beautiful lights in the sky and torn crinkled paper to make mountains and snow. These turned out super cute. You can see more of these next to the nurses' office.

Second Grade Reading Superstars!

2nd grade is rocking the 100 book challenge! These friends reached 25 books!

Mrs. Tryon

The third graders put their detective skills to the test. Each student designed a silly snowman then wrote a descriptive paragraph describing each detail they drew. After the paragraphs were published on “LOST” posters, all students read the paragraphs and tried to match up the missing snowman to their description. In the end, everyone became a “Super Snowman Sleuth!”

Mrs. Sylvester

In Math class, we are using manipulatives to learn about "Area Measurement." We are getting some great practice in!
