Over the last few weeks of school, students had the opportunity to enjoy socials. New students attended our first ice cream social and enjoyed fun games, socializing with peers, and of course, ice cream!

A unique aspect of Liberty Orchestra is "pods," which are randomized groupings of students from all five of our orchestras. This gives students the opportunity to interact with students outside of their orchestra. On the first week of September, students met their pod leaders and members for this school year and played ice breaker games to get to know each other!

Liberty Orchestra opened the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year with an outdoor social! Students ate pizza/snacks, played fun games against pods, and socialized with friends!

Students have been rehearsing music in class for the Fall Concert. Through playing tests and outside of school practicing, students have been showing remarkable progress as both an ensemble and individual musicians. The concert will be held on October 3rd, from 6:30pm-8:00pm in the Liberty Auditorium, see you there!

Q) How does it feel to the first bassist from Liberty Orchestra to audition for Jazz Band?

A) I think it's an interesting experience because not a lot of bassists have auditioned before, but at my old school, we had a few jazz bassists.

Q) Who is your favorite jazz composer?

A) My favorite jazz artist for bass is probably Esperanza Spalding and Marcus Miller, but overall, Chet Baker.

Q) How long have you been interested in jazz?

A) I started in eighth grade; I joined the jazz band for bass, which got me into the instrument and I also ended up in orchestra.

Q) Do you plan on pursuing a future in jazz?

A) No, I want to go into engineering, but I plan on continuing to play music. I want to keep playing jazz for the rest of my life!
