2nd Grade Newsletter
September 15-19
Good afternoon,
It's hard to believe that we are approaching mid-September already. The students were hard at work in every content area this week. We compared numbers and completed patterns on a number line, wrote a detailed narrative about a small moment in our lives, and even conducted a science experiment by melting different types of chocolate! Be sure to ask your student which chocolate chip melted the slowest and if their prediction was correct!
Thank you for the continued support from home. We hope you all have a great weekend!

Please be sure to bring a labeled water bottle and healthy snack daily.
Please check Take Home folders each week for teacher communication regarding classroom behavior.
UIL
We are very excited to share that our students have the opportunity to participate in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) A+ Academics Competition! Students who are interested in learning, practicing, and competing in these events will receive practice materials and resources through Google Classroom to help them prepare for their events at home.
In early November, students will take part in a Campus Meet held after school. This meet will allow them to showcase what they have learned. The ten highest-scoring students in each event per grade level will advance to the Competition Team and represent our campus at the Zone Meet in February. Following the Zone UIL meet, the top six (6) students in each event, in each grade level will advance to the District meet on Saturday, March 7, 2026.
You will be able to indicate areas of interest for your student. Please keep in mind that there may be conflicts with practice and/or competition times, and it may not be possible to participate in multiple events. Windsong Ranch UIL Interest Form
