Dear Eggert Families,

Welcome to the 2026 - 2027 School Year! We hope you and your family have enjoyed a wonderful summer filled with opportunities to relax, recharge, and make lasting memories. As the start of a new school year approaches, we are excited to welcome both returning and new families back to Eggert Elementary. We are looking forward to another year of learning, growth, and partnership as we work together to maximize the potential of every student.

As you prepare for the new school year, here are a few pieces of important information:

• Teacher Assignments will be available in the Parent Portal at the end of the day on Friday, August 21st.
• Welcome Back Night will be held on Wednesday, September 2nd from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Please see the flyer included in this newsletter for additional details and specific times about this evening.
• The first day of school for students is Wednesday, September 9th and will be a Cycle Day 1.

• This year, the district is excited to introduce ParentSquare, our new communication platform for families. ParentSquare will help us streamline district and school communication and make it easier for families to stay connected with what is happening at school. Please be sure to join ParentSquare! You can find more information about how to sign up by using the button at the bottom of this newsletter.

Eggert operates on a rotating 6-day cycle. Days 1-6 determine which day students attend their co-curricular classes including Art, Library, Music, Physical Education, and STEM. In addition, Health and Wellness is offered to students each week. Our Cycle Day Schedule will be included in future Eggert Extra Communications.

We know the beginning of a new school year brings excitement, anticipation, and maybe a few butterflies. Whether your child is entering school for the first time or returning for another great year at Eggert, our staff is committed to providing a welcoming, supportive, and engaging learning environment for all students.

We hope you enjoy the remainder of your summer and take time to relax before the busy school year begins. We are so excited for the year ahead and cannot wait to see our studetns back in our hallways, classrooms, and playgrounds. Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we work together to make this a wonderful school year for every student.

We are so excited to welcome everyone back to Eggert and show off our beautiful new addition, which will be the new home of our fifth-grade and two fourth-grade classrooms!

For those new to our building, we now have six brand-new classrooms at the end of D-Wing. With construction, our building has been closed to teachers this summer, and nearly 40 classrooms have been moved the last two years in preparation for the new addition. As a result, our teachers have had very limited time in their classrooms to unpack, organize, and set up before Welcome Back Night.

Please know that what you see at Welcome Back Night may look a little different than in years past, and some classrooms may still be a work in progress. Our teachers will have additional teacher workdays leading up to the first day of school on September 9th to continue setting up and making their classrooms ready for students.

The most important thing, however, will remain the same: your child's teacher will be there to enthusiastically welcome you and your family! We can't wait to welcome everyone back and begin an exciting new school year together!

For the safety of all students and staff, our school parking lots will remain closed to vehicles arriving for dismissal pick-up until 2:55 p.m.

Keeping the lots clear during the school day allows emergency vehicles to access our buildings quickly if needed and helps us to maintain a safe, and orderly environment for everyone.

We appreciate your cooperation and support in keeping our school campuses safe and accessible.

Mrs. Rebecca Banks, our school nurse, will be available during Open House until 6:00pm. If your child requires medication at school, please bring all medications, doctor’s notes, and required forms with you.

Important: Medications must be dropped off by an adult. They cannot be sent in with your child once school begins.
